Hi all,
I lost my white leather show lead at the show on Saturday - it will have slipped off my crate as I carried it from the ringside to the carpark next to Tent 2 after the judging had finished. I wonder if anyone found it or if it may have been handed in to lost property? do show grounds...
Hi Jackie, I wonder if you can tell me who the steward was - I'm fairly new to showing, but her face looked so familiar - very very nice lady too!
ALSO! I noticed Pauline Oliver taking pics of the bitches being judged - (apart from her own class that is! - what a stunning bitch!!) , and...
Thank you everyone, especially Eve who has given me a bit of hope (and to Andrew for the paxo recipe)! For now Dennis stays! we have forked out another £150 on wire for inside the hedge! - probably cheaper to chop down the hedge and grow some leylandii! Ironically he has been on the very best...
Hi Eve, thank you for your optimism!! Dennis was actually in the 'secure' part of the garden - but obviously not secure enough - it's only when he escapes when I discover the breaches. Analysing it, there is probably a fox at the other side of the hedge when he leaps - even the chook lady...
Hi all,
what a traumatic day. Dennis has discovered yet another escape route out of the garden - mostly they are made by a fox using our garden as a run thru. - he knows where they are thru smell - I only discover them when I see him disappear. To cut a long story short, he escaped within...
So sorry for your loss, you clearly did the best by him and can have no regrets.
That really is a very nice way to go - he must have felt very relaxed and secure and just allowed himself to slip away gently. A horrid shock for you, but a good ending for your lovely boy.
Kind healing thoughts...
What a wonderful girlie! the last post I replied to was congratulating you on a multi win weekend when she was much younger - what a super little girl she is! HOW do you get her that shiny!!!!
Well done Cilla, well done Lana! :- )
Thanks Rats and Bertha,
I'm really really sad to see that the showing whippet posters have gone elsewhere- surely not as a result of the working dog posters giving their ten pence worth? I thought the 'What should I look for in a stud dog' was extremely interesting when they got involved but...
Hi all,
my question is twofold - does anyone have the Leeds Show results that they can post and also - more importantly - has everyone gone over to the Whippet Forum now? and is that an extension of this forum... have I missed something?
I have tried to register with the Whippet Forum and just...
LOL Cartman! Good luck with that one! (do I get a cut?) ;)
What a great idea! a kennel with a long distance offshoot in a country with lots of old whippet lines (I believe). I wonder if the dogs coming and going UK/AUS simply join the Mc Cleods on the plane when they visit one another.
It...
Hi Feefee, completely agree re. mutilations, I can almost see the reason for dewclaws off, but have always had a problem with accepting that tails are docked because they get damaged - the only breed I know that regularly damages its tail is the greyhound, and of course they're not docked...
I recently saw a Dobermann with trimmed ears (in the Uk) - they looked like very sharp upstanding triangles!
Presumably he was an import - can ears be trimmed in this country? but can he be shown alongside our UK dobermanns - would those ears be penalised in the UK?
I must say, but I suppose...
Hi all, just being curious again - is the Peperone kennel in Aus the same as it is in Scotland?
I notice they're all Mc Cleods - is it one kennel with an Aus offshoot or would the Peperone kennel in Australia have to have been applied for under the Australian KC? I notice that the Aussie kennel...
Many thanks for the replies so far. In view of my pups being a bunch of silly twits I cancelled out wickets and wall measuring, but was interested in the ebay listing - thanks twinkletoes, - the measure is almost what I want but only went up to 18ins - I'm expecting at least one of mine to be...
