So an update as this continues to baffle us and the vets so this could be a good documentation for anyone experiencing the same!
So it's been over 3 months since we stopped the Simparica and he had no further tremors up until this week. He's now gone from one tremor episode every three weeks...
Thank you @JudyN ❤️
We had an appointment for him today and he had some blood tests to check blood count, thyroid, liver function etc. and they came back as completely fine so, the vet has recommended that we stop administering the Simparica flea treatment and switch back to frontline to see if...
Just wanted to add an update to this thread as we've had some new developments tonight.
The tremor came back again for the second time this month and they were significantly worse. The tremor lasted for over 2mins, which is a lot longer than the others that were around 10-20s each time. He...
Welcome @Lucygevans and Hetty!
Fellow rescue dog mama here! Our dog Rupert is from Romania and we've had him for 2 years this December ☺️
A very great post shared by @JudyN that covers a lot of the things people don't consider about European rescue dogs!
I won't say that our experience...
No bad teeth at all, everything else has been fine.
We did take him to the vets today to get checked out and he seems to have a small amount of build up in his ears so we're going down the elimination route and treating his ears first to see if that's the issue. Vet is hoping it isn't...
Hi all,
One of our dogs, a 2.5yr old mixed breed, has started exhibiting head tremors that only last for about 30 seconds and he snaps out of it when we call his name. He is 100% fine in himself, and doesn't seem disoriented by them, but this is the third occasion that we've caught these...
It sounds like you’ve got some great advice and are taking positive steps to working with your pup!
I’m still actively working with my dogs for similar behaviour, mostly to keep them away from/be disinterested in other dogs, as you never know what could happen if they continuously approach...
Bedlington lurchers are gorgeous! We considered finding one to rehome before our first dog.
We didn’t intend on having a Bedlington though. We only had our first dog for less than 2 years before he came into our lives. His previous owner was a close member of my partners family who very...
I will say their head structure does play somewhat of a part! When he's wet you can see how his muzzle connects with his head, and unlike some breeds that have a pronounced dip where their forehead meets their nose, his is quite in line, I would say like a short and less downward version of a...
I've considered a dehydrator for my own uses, so more than likely if I do end up with one it would be for us and the dogs! :D We just have a regular old fan oven so I think they would be quite expensive to make in the long run - especially at the moment! Glad to hear that your dog enjoyed them...
He's had a few fish skin treats that seem to be ok with his stomach if he has them infrequently, but he finishes them so fast compared to our other dog :D I will probably keep trying other brands of them too. The fish4dogs brand that we usually get the easiest is the ones he polishes off pretty...
I hadn't actually! He has had dried sweet potato before (the Soopa brand which is on the expensive side), he's quite a fan of fruits and veggies on occasion, so that could be a good option :) Thanks!
We have a Bedlington terrier who suffers from the typical digestion issues that the breed seems to have, which we refer to as 'Bedlington Belly' so he is very sensitive to new foods or food with certain ingredients.
We keep his diet as consistent as we can, the only thing we change up from...
