It seems clear from reading replies to my previous post of 22month old spaniel-lurcher snapping when resting that she has sleep aggression. She is now no longer growling but instantly snapping out to bite whoever is near if she's disturbed. I am trying to clap hands or whistle to awaken her...
It is humans, I have tried calmly reassuring her as her previous owner had another dog who kept attacking her & I thought this may have been the stem of it. I have tried stern voice & sending her onto her bed area also, none of which is working as a prevention & it is happen g more often now
My 22month old splurcher Meg has often growled when disturbed from sleep, but she has now began snapping & has bitten me. She is her usual self when walked, full of energy & shows no sign of injury. She's eating well & drinking well. Please can someone advise.
She has had to leave that daycare as they were not keen to heighten the walls, I think she'd have found a way over anyway.
I am keeping her inside when I'm out now, and looking into her going to other day care.
Thank you
Is there a way to stop her jumping over walls? She has now started jumping the walls in day care and they are concerned for her safety. I don't want her not to go as mixing with the other dogs is doing her the world of good. Any advice please
@JudyN
Thank you, I will give this a go. As far as videoing her, I can do this when I'm here, but not sure how to when the problems occur when I'm out. I will try to get some videos when she is distracted and starts barking when I'm home.
She has been to puppy training classes which have helped a...
Hi Kara,
I've had Meg since she was about 10 weeks old. I feed her James Wellbeloved Junior dried food.
She is a beautiful active puppy who is calming down slowly and not jumping up at people as she used to.
Someone told me yesterday that she is uncontrollable and not normal, even suggested...
Hi Joanne,
I blocked access to the top garden when she started jumping over the walls there, yesterday is the first time she has jumped over the wall at the bottom which is higher.
Her normal routine on a work day is up and out for morning toilet, breakfast then in the car to doggy day care...
Meg is now 11months old. She is a spaniel /lurcher cross. She is a crazy girl. She has realised that she can jump high walls and I am now struggling to keep her in the garden without her jumping over the walls into neighbours gardens. I have been giving her the kitchen to sleep in with her own...
Thank you, I will try this.
This is the first time I've had a puppy of my own, previously it was my parents doing this. I just don't want to get it wrong for her.

Hi Terry,
Thank you for this, it makes sense. I guess I'm just worried that the aggressive snarling she does for what appears to be no reason could develop into something worse. She has such a good temperament all other times and I don't want to mess that up.
Thanks again.
Tracy
I am looking for advice on my lurcher/spaniel cross who is becoming very possessive and aggressive if anyone approaches (or even talks in her direction) when she has a treat, toy or her food. Any advice on how I can safely train this aggression out of her please
