Scottish Thistle Pedigree Whippet Racing Club is your best bet for competitions. I believe that they offer competitions for all types of dogs as well as whippets. They fave a facebook page and The website is at www.stpwrc.org
They also have a page on this forum.
I always use a racing muzzle. They are designed to fit a whippet. This supplier does standard & long length and same in lurcher size http://www.midlandgreyhound.co.uk/index.html
I always take on preloved / rehomed whippets and have a lot of experience.
I took on a 10 month old rehome 6 weeks ago. Similar complaints no recall, not clean in house.
I have had no problems with either of these issues myself. She has been pretty good from day one apart from the odd accident...
Hi Angela
I have not long taken on Izzy (whippet 4) from Scruples. I now have two speyed bItches and Toddy who is neutered.
Izzy was 10 months old when she arrived and is quite an energetic handful.
If Milo is easy going, then neutering him should not change his personality. It would allow...
I have had mine on Burgess Supadog sensitive (both lamb & Rice & Salmon & rice) Mix in half a tin of pedigree Chum or Butchers Tripe with each meal between 3 of them. They love it and are really fit and well. Very simple food with one protein & 1 carbohydrate (rice). Daisy gets Nature's Harvest...
My lot stopped mutual poo appreciation after I swapped them onto Burgess lamb & rice.
I mix this with a little chumm in gravy to make it more palitable.
May just be good luck that mine have given up the habbit, but perhaps worth a try. Statistically, I would be interested if you get a result...
Hi
You do need to be in control.
Use a very short lead (no more than 24" intill your dog learns to walk properly. Izzy was weaving and pulling when I got her a few weeks ago. She was totally unused to lead control. Keep the lead short. You will be pulled less and your dog will learn what you...

Musselburgh is not a club, just me.
I do not have the time or inclination to set up a 'club' or arrange lurecoursing for other people.
I lurecourse my 3 whippets for my enjoyment and theirs.
As I said in my last post:
I only invite a few close friends who have whippets from time to time if...
Izzy has been here a week already. She has settled right in.
Absolutely full of mischief and capable of all whippet crimes :sweating:
I like the ones that are hard work to start with, they are usually the most rewarding in the long run.
A puppy was on the cards but I do prefer to offer a...
I lurecourse my own whippets for fun and have my own machine & pullies.
The only offical racing / lurecoursing I know of is held at inch farm just across the Kincardine bridge.
The event at Holyrood park was very small with only 16 experienced dogs in the stake.
It was a demonstration of 'The...
