Oh the temptation - I would so love to offer Winnie a home, as we've always said we'd like a second greyhound, and a female as a companion for Skipper. However, we've been told by a dog trainer that we should wait another 6 months to make sure Skipper is totally settled, and to carry on his...
Reminds me of when we moved in to this house. All the carpet was either missing or threadbare, apart from our bedroom which looked fairly new. We removed it however because it was a horrible colour and we'd got a cheap remnant to replace it.
The next evening we went in and the room smelt of...
We have one and it's great fun, especially since next door have got one as well now - we end up getting together with a few drinks and having competitions. We haven't got many games for it yet, but I'm getting guitar hero for christmas which I'm really looking forward to. The new mario game...
Thankyou!
Started off a boring day as my boss sent me on a project management course for the day - bla! But now I'm home and relaxing with a nice victoria sandwich cake...for some reason, can't think why, Skipper is curled up by my feet looking at me... :- "
I do admin work for a medical school. I quite like my job but am doing an OU degree in my 'spare' time as I've love to do something biology related eventually.
I hope he heals quickly poor boy.
It's sad to hear how many people share this experience - Skipper was attacked earlier this year by a collie that just ran out of a garden. We knew the owners so didn't do anything about it but it still rankles that they never offered us anything towards the...
Well I was thinking of trying to take a photo next time, but someone else told me that even that is against the law now, and you have to have someone's permission to take their photo... However, if the environment agency/dog warden ask for evidence I don't know if that means I would then be...
Well I guess the first thing to do is keep an eye out for her and then follow to see which house she goes into so we at least have her address - I know she lives nearby on the estate, but not sure exactly where.
Very tempted to leave a present from Skipper on her doorstep, but it wouldn't look...
Our front garden is just grass at the moment, and open to the street. On several occasions we've noticed a lady with a dog on a lead standing there while her dog goes to the toilet in the middle of our lawn.
The other day my husband was out walking Skipper and caught her in the act, so asked...
Thanks! I bought it online from AK Creations. The material is one of the waterproof ones, so think thick rainmac material I guess, and I went for fleece lined. There was loads of choice for both the outer and inner colour - too much choice as it took us agaes to make our minds up! :D
Skipper's new coat arrived yesterday - just in time for the gale force winds and driving rain - he seems to really like it, and looks cute as well!
Here's the back view...
We are also thinking of oprdering some stuff from here this year:

They have a 'doggie driver' which we are buying for a friend - its like a golf club but designed for tennis balls - we're buying one for a friend as he has taken up golf, so can practice his swing whilst...
Hmmm...I'm not great at choosing presents either!
My dad smokes in the the garden, and at this time of year he sits in the green house to smoke, so previous christmases I bought him a little parafin heater for in there, and a rechargeable lantern from the camping shop which came with a little...
There's a lady up the road with a beautiful old lurcher called Ollie. Skipper often barks at Ollie just like he does with other dogs.
This morning he wasn't barking continuously at Ollie when we bumped into him, just in fits and starts. Because of this, she suggested letting Skipper actually...
Firstly as others have said we took on an adult dog - ours was 6 when we took him on. As he was a rescue, we also talked closely with the rescue centre to find a dog that had spent time on its own so would be able to cope.
He has a good walk before we go out to work, and has the run of the...
Aww, congratulations, they look lovely together.
We were hoping eventually to get a female companion for Skipper, but decided it probably wasn't a good idea until we got his barking at other dogs under control, although he doesn't bark at every dog.... :b
When you say yours was barking, was...
I know the feeling - our first walk is around quarter to 7, and the other morning a guy came at me out of the dark with a big stick. Turned out it was the guy down the road who had seen my torch flashing and thought I was a prowler!
Thank you very much for this. We also walk our dog on a harness, but I've been looking for a more comfortable one for him, as the fit isn't great and it isn't as padded as I would like.
The one the dog trainer recommended is no longer sold by our local pet shop as they had a disagreement over...
