Sorry, can I just hijack this to say love all the seasonal signatures at the moment and especially Wild Whippies on here. Am not computer savvy enough to do this, still can't upload plain old pics! :( :luck:
Oh dear, poor Harry, it can be a nasty and painful condition. You've probably had the low down from your vet but 'Vet on the Web', key in pancreatitis, is quite informative. Good luck :luck:
Meant to say, I think vets are fairly keen to castrate dogs with undescended testicles because of the increased risk of testicular cancer and testicular torsion.
Am no expert but my boy's testicles had descended when I got him at 10 weeks. Have just had a look in my whippet book and a general dog book, but neither mention this.
Being in the position of having cats and whippets I don't think I could have my cat put down without going through all the options, including seeking a second opinion from another vet if yours cannot give you a diagnosis re the fits. Age 16 sounds old but these days with better diets...
I was looking at your litter and these three boys on your website. Think I like Plier but Wisby looks very different in this photograph to the one of the website. Gorgeous boys all three of them.
Have only just logged on and seen your post which is frustrating as I have been in Cumbria all day today. I have rescued two dogs from the RSPCA and I agree with everything that has already been said. Pip came to us in a dreadful state, physically and mentally, and although none of this was...
I am so sorry to hear of your loss and at such a young age. All the posts here are so right, the hurt never really goes, you just learn to live with it and hope it lessens with time. Having said that, we lost our three year old rescue two years ago next week and reading your post and the...
What a lovely litter and such a good mum. I watched a programme yesterday about Canadian breeders of standard poodles. One of their brood bitches gave birth and once the puppies had fed, they were taken away from mum and put in an incubator. Mum was standing up one hind legs desperately...
The first trainer was an idiot and shouldn't consider themselves a trainer  . I started both my whippies at obedience as soon as vacs allowed and my rescue whippy cross is just brilliant - clever, bold and easily trainable - she was given up to the RSPCA because she was 'untrainable'...
What gorgeous pics of a great little bunch. I kept scrolling down thinking 'that's my favourite, no that one is, or maybe that one' but I do like the one with all the little bottoms sticking out of the beech hedge! (w00t)
Congratulations to all  . Pics eagerly awaited although I'll get broody all over again as our youngest, Milo, is now 19 months and it seems a long time since we heard the patter of tiny paws.
Only just seen this post so went through the process, what a marathon!, only to find that it is now closed an no more votes can be registered.
Sorry but I wish you every luck in securing the funding for this wonderful cause. Let us know if you are successful.
Tilly was a rescue but Gracie and Milo came with blanket/toy, puppy collar, coat, supply of their food and an advice sheet. Gracie was our first ped whippet and before and after Ruby gave birth we were given loads of advice, regular up dates and pictures of the litter and individual puppies...
