Hi Eve, Tilly is fine and doing well - she's a brave little girl and not much gets her down. Even in such a short space of time, the wound healed well as it did last time and now you can hardly see it, even her coat has almost grown back to cover it. However, it has left me a wreck and every...
They are all gorgeous and love the little brindle, black mask girl (?).  My little baby Milo, is now a 15 month old strapping 21", sooo handsome, lad - how time flies.
Thanks eve. After the first lump I just knew this would be malignant and I'm so sad for her. No dog deserves this but she has been through so much I would have loved her to have an uneventful and peaceful life with us. Lets hope it's the last.
The results on Tilly's lump are in and, unfortunately, it is again malignant :( . On the bright side, it is another Grade 1 mass cell and my vet says that if we find a third, she will refer Tils to Leahurst University Hospital. I'm not sure to what end so I shall have a chat with her...
Tilly had the lump removed yesterday and came home leaping around, ready for food and a walk - it is so lucky that she tolerates anaesthesia so well . She's confined to a crate and on 10 minute lead walks for 10 days until the stitches come out, which is by far the worst part for her. Now we...
Thanks for the comments and well wishes. Re your post Jo, the first lump was in the armpit of Tilly's left front leg, this one is just under the nipple line on her right side. Perhaps describing it as a lump is a bit mis-leading although this is what the vet calls it. It is a raised...
In April Mydannyboy started the topic re a lump found on her dog. I had recently found one on Tilly and, unfortunately, it turned out to be malignant. Now, less than 6 weeks later, I have found another lump, just below the nipple line, which is identical in appearance to the last one. As...
He's just so lovely - the ears get me every time and look forward to seeing whippet number 2. Is there a story there that i've missed I wonder.
PS Those M & S throws get everywhere, we've got two. :p
He's just lovely and I wish you all a long and happy time together. I know that Badger sadly passed away but, from memory, didn't you still have at least one other whippy? Sorry if I missed something - I only come on this forum.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, it's devastating for all the family, including the dogs left behind. From personal experience, we lost Pip in a tragic accident 18 months ago leaving behind Tilly (then 4 years) and Gracie (then 8 months). Tilly is quite an independent girl and, although she...
Thanks for your concern guys. Leahurst Vet Hosp have confirmed that they would not recommend any further treatment and that there is no reason to think this will recur. Obviously we will watch carefully for any new lumps and they will be removed immediately. Fingers crossed this is the end of...
Maybe it was too much to hope for that all three dogs, Finn, Dylan and Tilly would be in the clear but we have had the awful news today that Tilly's lump is cancerous. The vet tells me that it is a Grade 1 Mast Cell tumour and that histology confirms a good margin of clear non cancerous tissue...
Just picked Tilly up from vets having had the lump removed. She came round very quickly and is very lively, such a stoic little dog. Now we wait and hope the histology results are good. So glad that Finn and Dylan's results were clear.
Only just seen this and what a pathetic sight he is. I'm sure he will come on in leaps and bounds now he's in the right hands. Well done you
I love happy endings and this sounds like a good one. Well done for rescuing him in the first place and lets hope life is good from now on for the beautiful Dylan  :luck: (love the name, I wanted it for Milo but was outvoted).
Don't beat yourself up (I get first place for doing that!), you will do what is best for your boy. Get him to the vet for an opinion and then you've got the ball rolling and can take it from there. Looks like there's going to be a few of us posting results. Fingers crossed for a happy outcome...
Tilly is 6 years old and I have found a lump in the armpit of her front left leg. Vet has seen it and doesn't think it's sinister so we decided to monitor it for a short while. However, it has grown and I have decided that I'm going to ask her to remove it and see what histology find. I've...
Good subject this. I've read through all the replies and comments as I've got three coming up for boosters, 6yrs, 2 yrs and 1 yr. Haven't a clue what I'm going to do!
