hi, sadly i think "teacup" dogs are often very poorly bred, and often even the forced runts of the litter, which are created by getting the bitch pregnant at the begininning and end of her cycle to create puppies that are a week or so younger than their litter mates. In effect premature... These...
i've got a peugot partner, which is similar to the kangoo. Slidy doors are a bonus if you have to get the dog out of the car in a car park. Tbh i used to have a kangoo, and i preferred it, but the peugot's meant to have a better engine, or thats what the bloke that sold it to me said ;) (my...
no advice, just thought i'd share my jealousy, dobermans are lovely, never met a puppy one, but i bet they are amazing...
Actually i do have a bit, no to putting the name on the tag. I have my dogs name on his, as he escaped once and took himself on an enormous walk across the city to find me...
i also walk over and nonchalantly stand on the ball as if i haven't seen it, rather than try and pick it up, this is from playing with a little jrt who i'm sure would have had my fingers off playing that game, she is looking to see me reach for it, knowing i'll whip my hand back, a foot is a bit...
this sounds fun! Have you tried upping the treat value, i use dried chicken, or dried venison heart. The only time i use it is for swapping, but i'm working on a spanielx terrier, so i've got it easy! I also do the opposite of chasing and wander off/and or sit down and act bored or secretive...
oh cadac! What a mean lady, it sounds obvious that she thought her dog was being innapropriate or she wouldn't have kept telling it to back off! What a knob! What signs was she expecting you to spot??? Your dog was hiding so obviously felt uncomfortable.... Some people have delusions as soon as...
hehe! Good news! Dog walking groups are the best. My dog is crazy, but if i can manage to catch up to a professional dogwalker, or a big group of walkers, he shuts right up and acts normal. Really good to get him to meet as many dogs as possible, and that sort of situation works, as all the dogs...
also you're friend is right in that kibble often has lots of grains and carbohydrates and other waste vegetable matter, as a cheap filler. Better a good quality meat type food, than a duff bag of biscuits! Beware the calories are less in tinned food because of the water content tho, its a...
hiya! You definitey started something eh!!!
Kibble is that complete biscuit food, the little dry brown nuggets. Some people say you should choose to feed either wet or dry food, but i don't believe this to be the case; i mix and match my dogs food so he's doesn't get bored or become intolerant...
oh dear, stand back! I'm pretty lucky dude has a tummy of steel, he's eaten some worrying things with no effect whatsoever! dates would test that though i'm sure. The dog at work managed to eat two senna tablets recently, she chewed the whole pack up (which got us really panicking!!), and we...
you can get those halti head collar things that pull their head round to the side if they pull so its uncomfy and they walk slower, but they always look soooo uncomfy on dogs, and i imagine yours has a big squishy face that would make that even worse.
Mine has a halti harness which has a loop...
teehee! On the stealing thing.....
My dog was never interested in food and never stole. Now he's neutered he will occassionally. I don t tell him off, as it is my fault for leaving food within his reach. Consequently i don't get the 'guilty' reaction. I get a dog sitting bold as brass and...
it does look a bit like reverse sneezing, whippets do it occassionally, and it is common in shortnosed breeds apparently.
The first time my dog did it i completley panicked, but the person i was with had seen it before thank goodness. I took mine to the vets, without a video (very quick of...
hellooooo
irish setters eh? Now that will make us all jealous! They are so beautiful, and such happy crazy creatures!! If you are on your fourth, i'm sure you have lots to teach us!
Look forward to hearing from you
hannah :)
p.s. You seem to have got the hang of the smiley's better than me...
sounds like he might be a bit uncomfy around other dogs, and being bullied won't have helped his confidence, but its very hard to say what causes what, as he settles in and you get used to him you'll be able to see what triggers him, and work out if he's being truly antisocial or just normal...
hello jampot! Welcome to the forum.. We need photo's of your lovely dogs... I look after a springer sometimes and i do like vizlas, they are so elegant looking. i take it you also have a lot of energy!
When i first got my dog and he was still very very nervous i had the most amazing...
hello susan, welcome to dogforum!

There is a lady on here who has just found out her new rescue jrt is pregnant, she is very worried and in need of advice! You might just be the lady for her! Her jrt is also called rosie, which must be a sign...
