I'm absolutely devastated to have to tell you guys that Badger has taken a turn for the worst today and is being put to sleep this evening.
I am on the sofa with him now and that is where we will spend our afternoon together.
This is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do, my beautiful...
thought i'd update this for those of you who aren't on my Facebook.
It's been a stressful morning in our household....for the last week Badger has not been eating properly and we have struggled to get him interested in any food.
In the early hours of this morning I noticed he was rubbing at...
Aww poor Fred, I really feel for you, some days with Badger are quite stressful as some days I think we should call it a day and others, he's really bright but that's the thing with heart failure, no consistency so its very up and down.
Badger too is very wobbly and weaves a bit as he walks...
I buy it from my vet surgery and they can get any colours and some with ouch! printed on it in a variety of languages lol...might be worth trying your vets as they'll have the proper stuff and it's not very expensive.
Vetmedin takes three weeks to become effective, so you should be seeing some results now.
My whippet has heart failure and he is on Vetmedin and now Fortekor as he suffered another collapse and the vet who examined him said his heart has enlarged now so he needs both drugs.
Hi, no I don't mind at all....he's not doing so well any more and suffered a collapse on 30th December during the night and hasn't really returned to his old self since.
He has seen the vet again and we now have him on Fortekor as well as Vetmedin but it remains to be seen whether it will help...
Badger...live as long as I can :(
Bryn......slowly get even more senile and bark at the wall as often as possible because I know it freaks mummy out! (w00t)
James......get treatment for my addiction to ball games and invent a cloaking device which allows me to open the fridge, steal food...
my whippet boy Badger broke his tail as a pup, about a week after we got him. He broke it about two inches from the tail tip.
Our boxer dog (RIP) was being a bit over enthusiastic and he jumped and landed on the end of the tail and it broke.
Badger didn't have his tail removed or pinned, he had...
if he was mine, i would want his neck x rayed particularly at the base and another film of his upper spine from just behind his shoulder blades, as he reminds me of a dog which had spondylosis.
Not sure if I should post here as I'm not sure if I've been naughty
I did used to love this forum though. still look most days to see whippety news but will admit to stepping over to the other side to catch up with other whippety/ iggy news.
