Hi, I used to trim a neighbour's rabbit's claws for it - couldn't wear gloves and was really worried he'd kick and bite but he was an absolute angel as long as I groomed him first - like you say I think they're just grateful for someone getting on with it.
Hi Amanda,
Lovely pics esp. little Ted - he still looks like a miniture version of my Puck. Puck is just on 22.5 inches now and will be 6 months old next monday. How tall is Ted now?
Hi everyone - had a lovely day, lots of lovely dogs. It was nice to meet the lovely Myrtle and Sky and Dylan and their owners. Had fun although the only rosette was in the best vet over 11 in the Novelty ring with my Lab/collie cross, Drake. Very big lurcher puppy class so not surprised Puck...
Have just had a look at the show website - it looks good so we might be going if I can persuade the OH. Might bring all 3 dogs as there's something for all of them so may see you there.
Hi, just to update you all. We have heard on the grapevine that it has been cancelled as too few trade stands were booked in and the organisers pulled the plug as without the trade standers they can't guarantee to cover the costs.
Please will you all try to support the trade stands when you go...
Sorry I don't know why - the website just says due to unforeseen circumstances. We got a phone call to let us know as the OH was meant to be shotgun coaching and we were going to make a long weekend of it & stay in a pub.
We rang the pub to cancel today and they hadn't heard it was cancelled so...
Wow super pics. Hasn't Ted grown - I saw him at Shugborough when he looked minute next to Puck. Now he loks just right - well done on being in the winners pics.
I wish we could have gone but its such a long way to drive so we opted for a walk at Kilve and a cream tea! For the first time Puck...
I think every dog like every owner is unique and there probably aren't right and wrong answers just different ones.
I have had dogs for a number of years although only now on my first lurcher. I've used different training methods with different dogs depending on the dog's temperament and...
As a relative newcomer to K9 I really enjoy the forum and try to join in the threads whenever I can or have something to say that other people may find interesting/amusing.
However I find some of the bitchiness and backbiting a bit offputting especially when people are questioning another...
Hi we feed am and pm usually about 6.30 am and 6 pm although its later in the morning if the puppy sleeps in and later in the evening if we're out for the day or have the afternoon walk later on. I also feed Puck, now 4 months old, at about 12 noon. The dogs go out when we go to bed about 9.30...
Hi what good advice.
I have had dogs that were unsafe around other dogs in the past and always put them on the lead around other dogs and called to other owners to keep their dogs away. But on a number of occassions people have allowed their dogs to barrel in resulting in a near dog fight with...
Hi, are the schedules available yet? Could you cut and paste into a pm for me as I can't download stuff at the moment - did an upgrade and the laptop has done a wobbly on me - grrrrrrr
Hi,
Puck managed a 2nd in his puppy class on Saturday and a 3rd from a bigger class on Sunday. He's only just 4 months and his mouth is very sore from teething so I was quite pleased really. I must trim his nails though as they are really long and I think that got us marked down on Sunday...
The CAB can help you with these forms or refer you to someone who can. They are horrendous - I was advised to apply when I first had cancer but decided that I didn't meet the criteria so didn't bother. I think they are designed to put people off applying.
Good luck with the form, and take it...
