I've used a Gentle Leader on a Whippet and would say it's fine - I have a really strong pulling Whippet boy (who I could NOT walk without a headcollar on, he is very strong), who twisted a Gentle Leader about on his face and rubbed a bit, so now I use a Dogmatic head collar - costs about £17...
I'm thinking of you - I hope the vets get her treatment moving and your girl gets on the road to recovery soon. I also hope you get some sleep tonight though I know that's easier said than done.

Nicola - she takes about an hour and a half to bath and groom through; and TTs need bathing about every 4 weeks (more frequently if they're going to a show). Whippets are MUCH more practical, grooming-wise! LOL
