Many thanks for the comments, and many thanks to Dawn (Daledogs) for posting my pic's.
Sam was bred by Sandy Hardcastle, who lives near Exeter, Devon. Sam has the "poachyn" lines in his breeding. His elementary training is going well, and as you can see he has made himself at home !!
:D :D
Many thanks for the affectionate gesture's, and many thanks to Dawn for her assistance in posting the images, no idea why I could not get them on....
He was bred by Sandy Hardcastle at Exeter and has the "Poachyn" line as well as many other well known lines. He's settled in well and elementary...
My 10wk old pup is due for his second worming at the weekend, can anyone recommend a certain type. I know that drontal is popular, but some advice would be appreciated. I have also used panacur in the past, is this still popular ?
Well he is here, picked him up yesterday... Its like he has always been here and has settled in completely. He is now 10wks, did not want to pick him up for christmas as I think the confusion and excitement of the children would have been a bit much.
I have attached a couple of pic's but will...
Does anyone have any opinions on Jan Fennell's method of dog training, two friends have just been on one of her courses and think very highly of the method she uses. Does anyone else here have any experience or thoughts about this.
:)
Thanks,
I was considering one the donut type beds they look pretty comfy, I was also going to get a small pen to surround his bed while he is still small, and so that he knows this is his own personal space.
I need some advice on which dog bed is going to be the most practical for my new whippet pup when he arrives on the 2nd of Jan, I want something that is going to be easy to clean, preferably machine washable, and does not allow parasites and the like to invade. Any adcice on what is worth...
Hi noopy,
Sounds like you need a database, I would use either m/soft Excel for basic spreadsheets or for a more advanced system go for m/soft Access. Alternatively you could have a look at the computer section on ebay and look under software where you will find database software for sale, most...
Have spent many years working lurchers, and will continue to do so when I get another. As others have said it is what they are bred to do, though it is good to see that they are as happy curled by the fire as they are coursing a rabbit in a field on a cold dark windy night.
Am I to assume that epupz is an online "Exchange and Mart" type thing ? Thanks to those who suggested it anyway. Have put all the feelers out so it's just a case of waiting....
Many thanks for the welcome, hope to include the progress of whatever pup/dog I end up with, on here.
I think alot depends on the type ground you hunt or where you are located in the country. For the large fields of east anglia the larger deerhound type crosses are good, as are the many collie/greyhound permatations. I am in the S.West where the fields are a lot smaller and irregular, and...
I have placed a message on another section of this site, so apologies if anyone has seen this twice. I am based in Devon and I am looking for a working whippet or small lurcher up to about 22inches when fully grown.
I have had lurchers for many years, and have worked, trained and judged them. I...
Hi All,
I am new to the site, I am hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction on getting hold of a pup. I have plenty of experience with lurchers but have never had a working whippet. I live on the edge of Dartmoor (Devon) on a 500 acre estate with more rabbits than you...
