Ignore is the way forward. He needs to bond with the other dogs, rather than just you. At 12 weeks, he's only just learning that you aren't mum. Does he sleep with the whippets and not near you? He should do :b
A walking stick is an excellent idea for would-be furry problems
I think I'm prety lucky. We (Mel, Kim, Chloe and me) know most of the local dogs now. Sid (Jack Russell), Jake (Malmute cross Husky), Kenny and son (Black labs), the two daft red setters, the frightened big black...
I make the odd mistake - Jasmin the tiniest lttle furball with an OAP owner sat on the bench that I didn't spot. My two 5 month old playhounds ran up to her, sniff and straight past. The owner thought her dog had been mown-down. Little dog fine. Dogs back on leads and everyone sniffing. Owner...
Snap! This is "Mel" sitting on my daughter.
6 months and eighteen point something kilos now!
1 hour walkies a day for the pair of them now. Little sods start doing circuits of the garden if we stick to the vets 25 minute maximum recommendation.
You've a very nice little dog there (w00t)
We now have 3 pups! The collie cross has decided to shed 12.5 years, revert to a puppy and enjoys a roll around on the carpet as much as the other two. 3 chewies and they all want the same one and will wrestle for it - doggie floor show!
Chloe really missed our old greyhound Sophie and pups...
We have 2 new 5 month old Greyhound pups (both bitches) and a 13yr old Border collie cross.
With some dogs (usually large males) she is absolutely fine. Pups want to play and collie wants to sniff.
On approaching some dogs (usually small bitches) our collie wants to woof. Head goes down tail...
Thank you :D
Kim (the black one) is a little pest when it comes to teasing our cats, testing the lead training or stealing the other dogs chewies. Separate walkies has got the pulling just about sorted for her now, she pulls, I hold the lead, she looks up (good girl), stops and we off we go...
Hi all,
We lost our retired greyhound of 12 a few months ago. We haven't had a pup for 13 years (the age of our collie cross), so greyhound pups it is! They are very easy as young ones go and I'd recommend if you are new to dogs.
This was last night chasing around the field (5 months old)...
