Very sorry to hear the news about Ted.
We stayed with Ted and Betty in their home at the Lizard a number of time. We were always made welcome and enjoyed the walks along the top of the clifts, and the racing at the Club and on Thursday nights on the football field opposite the school. Our...
Thanks to all those who have emailed me on this race meeting
To confuse the matter I now have a programme which shows odd poundage groups (ie 19, 21, etc.)
And the attach pic of me sitting by the trophy table - I don't remember being there!!
There may have been more than one meeting and can't...
I know it was a long time ago - but
Does any one remember this race meeting and who won the weight groups?
It was at the South of England show ground - Toddy took the entries (I think).
I've looked in 1996 WNs and can't find any results.
Thanks, Rob...
If you know that power is getting to the motor it would seem that the connections are ok. However, battery voltage is very important. After charging a 12v car battery should be at 12.7v if the voltage has dropped to 12.5 - the battery is only half charged. This small drop in voltage may seem...

I've just heard the sad news that Arnold Mortimer has died in Kent.
Arnold coursed with the Whippet Coursing club, the East of England WCC and the Wooly WCC.
His 'Hall of fame' coursers were Silver Harrier who was a top puppy in 78/79 and followed this as a top dog in 88/89/90
and his other...
I've just heard the sad news that Arnold Mortimer has died in Kent.
Arnold was WCRA chairman for a number of years and although he coursed his whippets more that he raced he did have runners that made Championship finals.
I have no more information.

Hi all
When most had gone, alone on the grass, filled with blown leaves - what would happen?
Would the owner of this abandoned item - please let me know and I will return it.
I’ve been reading articles about the limits that animals can run at. The author (from Stanford Univ, CA. USA) has studied Humans, Horses and Greyhounds and has arrived at a figure for speed of 16.66m/s. He has studied Horse Race times (1.5 miles) back to 1870s and Greyhound times back to 1927...
Fighting Or Not
Some time back (I go back a long way) it was agreed that it was difficult to train people to be Disqualification Judges (Ian?) – because we have rules and then we are expected to read and apply them. What is fighting to one judge is only a bump to another. When A...
Hi June
Glad to see the Whippet Rescue Open had been to 3 locations near Andover, you will have to ask Dave or Carol Brown for the date the event was last held at Newmarket (it was on the bends some time - may have been over 285yards and 8 weight groups), and I think is was held at Harvel (but...

and if you look back on K9 you could see that I started a thread 2 years ago asking what people would like to see at the...

I know Alan allowed different clubs to host the Open and I know that there was a balance of money which...
