I've just skimmed through but has anyone recommended a DAP (now called aDAPtil) diffuser. It's a plug in pheremone diffuser that puts calming pheremones into the environment (the same the mother dogs give off to pups). This really can make a difference.
Great thanks:). I'm away for the weekend so just checking in on the iPhone. I'll weigh in when I'm home. Could be an interesting discussion for all points of views :)
Which is where the 'mutual trust and respect' comes in that I was talking about in my post. But again, in your situation 'damned if you do, damned if you don't'. If they didn't suggest followup, and something bad DID happen you could turn around and lodge a complaint.
I absolutely agree that...
So what are the strong stuff collars made from. Looks like three ply stitched nylon from the pics? Not criticising just curious. There's definitely stitching in them though.
Also is there a website please :)
It's the whole damned if you do damned if you don't thing. At the end of the day I expect if the vet has blocked our time for me that I will pay for that block of time. Perhaps a second visit might be discounted but I don't see why they have to. Vets have to make a living, pay their...
I have thoughts but no time to share at the moment, however I wanted to check that you had his permission to cross post his reply to you onto another board. It's a really interesting point but I wouldn't want any offence caused if he didn't give his permission for his words to be posted...
Sounds like she's stressed. A lot of those behaviours aren't just about destruction but about self calming and destressing. Much as you don't want to go back to the crate if you have one big enough that she has plenty of room to lie and turn, that is most likely your answer. A lot of dogs...
Every dog (or should I say 'bitch' in this case) is different. Some don't want to eat, some get the munchies, some get grumpy, others get clingy. Basically hormonal!
So what I would say is that it's not abnormal for her to be picky coming into season. Is she definitely coming in or do you...
anything by Plush Puppy is excellent. they have different ranges. I prefer their dry shampoo called Plush Puppy Wonderwash, but then I have short coated that don't need a lot.
Believe it or not a lot of people swear by Johnsons Baby Shampoo for their dogs!
Also note that the collars shouldn't be just 'fabric' but should be some type of nylon (like regular collar material) or seatbelt test material with fabric trim to decorate it. So while it may loo fabric,
I have designer style martingale collars and leads that I have had and used for over 10...
Something you can do while cutting her food down to still help her feel full (and we have used this method ourselves with success) is to put frozen green beans (frozen rather than tinned as tinned have salt) in to replace the food you have taken out. When we need to cut one of our girls back...
There are bad KC Assured Breeders and there are good non KC assured breeders. I joined the scheme - better to join than just criticise from the outside. However I do tell people that just being a member doesn't guarantee a great breeder, and not being in one doesn't guarantee a bad one...
Mine is my affix or kennel name. It's made up of our first three dogs we had as a couple who we like to think of as our 'foundation bitches'. Chelsea was or first dog together, a rescue puppy who was part whippet and got us hooked on whippets. Savannah our first purebred whippet and the one...
As a note we had a local council ecosystem agriculture type person say actually if it's off in the middle of the heath and away from the path to leave it. That by bagging it up we are causing more damage to the environment by disposing of the bags than by leaving it where it will quite quickly...
When I sold my puppies, I had my vet receptionists make a note of the new owners' names and gave them permission to release their notes to either the new owners or the vets representing the new owners. Not that there was much to tell, just info on their health checks, jabs and such.
I suspect...
