Vet immediately. Sounds like something painful may be lodged there and blocking. Puppies eat all kinds of things they shouldn't so it could be painful sore tummy and diarrhea or a blockage. Both are serious at that age.
My oldest and 'alpha' girl does this. She would be absolutely mortified if she went in our house, but if we visit a new (to her) place she can be caught trying to leave just a little teeny poo in a corner. As TonyB says, I always take them straight outside again once we've got to a new place...
Sorry, I really think this one is best left to the professionals. If you're not completely confident in your current vet then get a second opinion from another recommended vet. There are so many factors that could be causing his condition that any recommendation by someone with a similar...
It really does sound like an obstruction. Sorry I've come to this so late. I would ask for an x-ray if it hasn't been done and there is any possiblity of an obstruction. My old girl (now passed) had one and barely made it, but hers was total. A lot do fine as it's only partial so some things...
As Murphyrules says, I had always said I would never put my dog through chemo after seeing friends go through it, but then my old girl got osteosarcoma. At her age I chose not to go the chemo route, but I joined an online support group and learned how differently the animals respond to chemo...
I've already replied on one of your other two posts on the subject. Unfortunately the way it's set up and worded I do not feel able to complete it effectively and accurately.
Edit to add I am merging the 3 topics into 1
Crate. Depending on the breed they'll climb out of a pen. Also I believe it's never a good idea to teach a pup that it's ok to mess in the house sometimes. If business is always done outdoors if helps them learn quicker. JMPO
I've had mine made by Hamsterbasket http://www.hamsterbaskets.co.uk/. They are fanstastic, hve the measurements from most cars so can make to order. If they don't have yours on file then they show you how to measure. They make the most of the space you have. I've had mine for 8 years now and...
Also keep in mind that as dogs age their hearing and sight starts to go and often their world becomes much more insular. It may just be age creeping up on her. If you haven't done any blood tests recently I'd maybe ask the vet do do a general blood panel on her. If all is good then you have a...
I agree about taking her back to the vets and a test for diabetes, and diabetes insipidus. And to check kidney function. This is not normal behaviour or amounts to drink, especially this time of year
Too late now, but I would have induced vomiting if discovered less than an hour from ingestion. I would keep a close eye on the dog and I would contact the vets first thing in the morning to let tum know and give them a list of ingredients as well as the contact number for vet vits so they can...
Instead of taking him by the collar and putting him in a time out have you tried saying nothing and removing yourself from the room. Just by paying enough attention to grab hold and put him away you may inadvertently be rewarding attention seeking behaviour.
I have a couple of other thoughts...
I agree with Sophie, though often the 'guidelines' don't match what is actually needed, so I use them as a guide, but then also let my eye guide me. Young pups should be a little on the roly poly side as they are growing and need that extra weight. Once they get to the older pup stages, then...
Hi, I gladly went to take the survey, and I did try to take part in the survey, however as a small hobby breeder (bred two litters), I got to the government questions and those 'guidelines' really don't apply as I don't breed more than x litters per year (dependent on county and National)...
Also don't forget even as 'we' age ourselves we have to get up more often in the night to relieve ourselves. Your greyhound is now a senior citizen and sometimes concessions just have to be made. We had to start getting up at 4am to let our senior out. We just took her (and made the rest go...
I saw that when it was on. While I don't have a lot of respect for the presenter after his participation in slating pedigree dogs, I did find a lot of really useful and interesting (even if a bit distressing) information in this particular proramme. Lots of good well-explained calming...
