I totally agree, the injuries and loss of life associated with this race are completely unacceptable. I'm astonished that so many people who love horses can watch the spectacle of horses taking such terrible falls year after year and see it as 'sport'.
RIP Ornals and Dooneys Gate who broke...
GAP have recently taken in seven whippets from one home, ranging from about 3 months to four years old - Mum, Dad and offspring from two litters I think. They aren't officially up for rehoming yet, but I think there are potential homes lined up for some of them. Not sure if this link will work...
Not sure if this link will work but there are some pictures here:

Unfortunately it sounds as though these dogs haven't had much experience of the outside world or any training, so would need a bit of work put into them in a new home.
Brilliant to hear he's making such good progress already, you can come and do some top-up training with my lot next
I don't think it matters if he's close to you when you call him. You know you're training recall, but he thinks you are saying a magic word that means he's going to get...
Greyhound Gap have taken in seven whippets of various ages from one household today, they aren't up for homing yet but worth keeping an eye on the website and forum - there were a couple of very pretty adult bitches.
Good luck, dogs can be hard work around this age (the teenage 'Kevin' stage) and often seem to forget all their previous training.
I think the suggestion to take him to a good training class is an excellent one - they will not only teach you all the right techniques for recall, but he will get...
That is so true, my neighbours have a gorgeous young collie who seems to spend all his time other than a couple of short walks shut in a utility room with a baby gate across even though they are retired and home all day - they don't want mud and hairs around the house (.... so why get a dog...
I definitely wouldn't feel you are wasting time taking him to the vet if you are worried - you know your dog and you know if he's not right.
Has this just started since he's been on the CSJ food? It is a good food but (depending on which CSJ type you are using) it has quite a high wheat...
It's the same video - I suspect it won't be there long. Anything critical of CM (there have been a few on Youtube, including off camera stuff showing him taunting and winding dogs up before filming to make them appear more aggressive) seems to 'disappear' very quickly.
I simply don't understand...
Me too
I noticed that a lot of the dogs in the clip were wearing his own design 'illusion collar', this is a double collar designed to hold the slip part of the collar up under the chin where it's most effective pressing against the dog's windpipe. Other dogs in the clip were wearing...
Interesting collection of CM clips which illustrate why he wouldn't get within 20 miles of any dog of mine:

Unfortunately there is pretty much no regulation covering this sort of ad, dogs get sold in season, in whelp and as 'proven breeding pairs'.
Poor girl, if her owner was genuinely needing to rehome her for health reasons they could at least have waited until her season was over - they are...
In practice 'Dangerously out of control' is interpreted as dangerous to people, not to other dogs. However if you have good reason to think that you might have been in danger (eg of getting bitten while defending your dog) that may be enough to get the police to take action.
Most complaints...
Have you tried Many Tears to see if they can take them? They bring quite a few dogs over from Ireland and often take pregnant dogs and young pups from various pounds.

Poor mum and pups, I hope you are able to find someone to take them :(
