    Bull/greyhound Cross Anyone Have Experience

Just being curious, but have bull cross lurchers got a lot more common/popular over the last few years? I've noticed recently how many there are in rescue, they seem to have way overtaken the saluki x and collie x lurchers, yet I hardly remember seeing any a few years ago. Most of them sound...

    Please Help Star

I was reading about her earlier, how can anyone let their dog get into that state? She was picked up very close to me as well :( At least she's in good hands now with EGLR, but her treatment is going to be expensive, I'm sure they'd welcome any help people can give...

    Help

It would be worth getting their anal glands checked. Full or infected anal glands can give off a scent which some male dogs can find very interesting :x

    Help And Advice Needed

I had this problem with Taz (lurcher not whippet) at one point, he was infuriating, he never ran away but would stay just out of reach and not let me get the lead back on him. As other have suggested I started calling him back every few minutes on walks, and rewarding with really high quality...

Permanent Pet-free Foster Home For Ruby

Sadly since arriving in her foster home it has become apparent that Ruby has some health problems, so Oldies Club have decided not to rehome her and would like to get her settled as soon as possible into a permanent quiet foster home where her vets bills will be covered by us for life. Ruby had...

Bedlington Whippet Cross Pup Wanted Leeds Area In April/may

There are also lots of puppies coming into rescue - more now than I have ever known. Greyhound GAP have recently taken in some whole litters of lurchers, also pregnant bitches so the pups are born in rescue and are well looked after and socialised from the start. Obviously it's your decision if...

    Wanted Little Mongrel Pup

Please look at your local rescues, there are so many pups coming in at the moment. At one time it was rare to get young pups in rescue but recently there are whole litters being handed in because they aren't selling, or pregnant bitches taken in as strays or handed in. Much better, imo, to pay a...

Mysterious Illness - Sunken Eye And Not Eating

Do you know how long this has been going on and if the dog has any other symptoms - eg temperature, poor coat, weight gain or loss, loss of appetite etc? Any localised infection (eg ear or salivery glands) could cause a sunken eye and make him feel generally unwell, but I'd assume the vet has...

    Burns Dry Food

Burns is a good food but it doesn't suit all dogs. Taz is a dustbin dog who can generally eat absolutely anything, but Burns made him runny. On the other hand Sophie who has a sensitive tummy and can be runny on some other foods did well on Burns

    The Dog Whisperer Tonight

That is exactly the sort of story that we hear all too often Esty. I'm afraid it's got to the point where if someone applying for one of our dogs proudly tells us that they know about training because they watch CM and think he's great we see that as something to be concerned about. Jim...

    The Dog Whisperer Tonight

I agree about understanding dog's communication and body language, it's something people so often overlook. I particularly like Turid Rugaas' take on this, I saw a video talk of hers on calming signals and how you can use them yourself working with timid or aggressive dogs, and it really does...

    Thera-paw Boots

I use Therapaw boots for Jess's corns, they are very padded and keep her comfortable even on hard ground, but I find on long walks I have to tighten them from time to time as they slip eventually (which is not good if we've been walking through mud). I wouldn't let her wear them for free...

    The Dog Whisperer Tonight

Blimey Dotty&Duke, I'm sorry if my post intimidated you or made you feel reluctant to post, it certainly wasn't intended to do that. I was just stating my opinion, other people have stated theirs, I haven't attacked anyone for having a different view or been rude or unpleasant to anyone I don't...

    Disappointed With My New Whippet

And me, I think he's gorgeous :D As one who's only attempt at knitting was blanket squares (with lots of dropped stitches) at primary school I'm enormously impressed! I hope he's going to be neutered before rehoming, we wouldn't want woolly whippets breeding out of control
