I wish I shared your optimism. Unfortunately I think a very small proportion of the dogs on this country come from 'good' breeders who give a damn about where their pups go or offer any sort of back-up to owners who can't keep their dogs. Huge numbers are being bred in English and Irish puppy...

Have you tried asking round the vet's surgeries in your area to see if they can suggest anyone? Some of the vet nurses at the practice I go to do home boarding for dogs and they would be able to manage his injections. It might also be worth trying some of the companies who provide home...
