I totally understand that it can be frustrating but realistically without perseverence and patience you're less likely to end up with a content dog who is good and relaxed in her environment. She is in a completely new place poor thing and is unlikely to automatically fall into your assumptions...
Nelly was happy on her own until she was 2 and half. In fact sometimes i think she wishes she still was - i think she'd rather have 'all' the fuss as apposed to sharing :lol:
I kept mine on lead for about a year too due to his bieng so nervous. I kinda got a feeling when it might be ok and then gradually talked myself into it. He loves bieng off lead although plays at being extremely deaf when it suits him :D . Good luck. shes lovely :wub:
