It sounds like you do have a lot on your plate and hopefully if you dad agrees to help it will take a bit of pressure off. If all of you are on the same team (you and your girls) it means that you might be able to help each other.
You seem more positive in your second post hopefully things have...
It is something you want to get right now, I made sure that poppy was never on the sofa if she was alone, and when I was in the room when she was a puppy I made the effort to sit on the floor so we could play, then when she was starting to get sleepy I would move onto the sofa so she could sleep...
I had a similar problem as my dog was so used to being with me everywhere I go (work, walking,to see friends) she needed to get used to being on her own. I made sure there were times in the day that she would be alone in her crate (I crate trained as we traveled a lot) I would make sure she had...
It is lovely of you to think about rescuing a dog! But they do often come with some issues due to one thing or another. Contact your local rescue centre and ask them if they are happy for you to bring your dog to them and take it from there. It’s a lot to do with personality I think.
I am really sorry you had to go through all of that! It was truely heart breaking to read and I hope you don't feel guilty in anyway, you did your absolute best for him!! I hope that you are coping and find some comfort in knowing you did it for the right reasons and you loved him very much!!
It sounds like your trying to do the best for all parties! Maybe your dog need some more space while feeling unwell and most of us know we like peace and quiet when we are not feeling our best. Keep your chin up :)
I feel both your pain!! As a new dog owner myself I was worried sick that I was doing something wrong with my poppy as she was itching and biting all the time. After trips to the vets and a trip to the groomer - I had ruled out any fleas/tics. I also changed her food - It was the last option I...
This doesn't sound great to me, when I went to my local rehoming centre they wanted to us to met the pets and then have a house visit as well, its wasn't as easy as we thought it might be! So this makes me question how much they care for the animals and a services isnt a relax place to be...
I decided not to let poppy out at night and crate train her with the routine of going straight out for a toilet break in the morning, does she think that she is due to get up when your partner lets her out?
I think you need to see it, my auntie uses one with her terrier and one she got online wasn't very good but was cheap. She went into her local pet shop and found one that was more expensive but was off a far better quality and they helped her fit it to her bike.
Have you spoken to your insurance people? that or maybe give the dangerous dogs act a read as that might give you some ideas.
Hope you are able to resolve this soon!
Some great advice, I am trying to do with my puppy she gets over excited and starts to jump on you and around you and most peoples natural reaction is to interact with her and I am trying to get them to stop as I don’t want this behaviour to continue. Can you tell me what I can do to stop her as...
