In our experience both personal & other people's dogs unfortunately they do seem to come back. They can be surgically removed which can give up to three years relief (our own bitch got four month's). Olive oil is good for dry pads so is linseed oil. Almost any skin cream will alleviate dry pads...
You are very right in what you say Beej.
I'm sorry but IMO good reputable breeders DO NOT need to advertise on internet ad sites, if you have to advertise on the likes of the above then IMO (again) you really need to re-think as to why you're breeding a litter.

We lost a 14 yo last year. Oldest I know of was 25 she was owned by Maria Goodman the sloughi & other sighthounds person. Her name was Morgan & she was one of the last Dondelayo's. She sadly outlived her breeder by many years dying in about 1999-2000.

As far as angulation goes; naturally most dogs will not be exactly 120degrees between the shoulder blade and upper arm, and we can argue for ever about the perfect angulation of the hind leg, but ANGULATED it needs to be. If there is no angle it is not just incorrect according to the standard...
, I have never seen anything so bad, looking side on, you could put a straight line from his hip joint to his foot, it would go through every joint in his rear leg! I bet he is in back of some present dogs' pedigree, being remebered for his successful show carrier and linebred to by people who...
We remember the Lindays from the days when the Northern & the SPWRC held match meets. Mr Lindsay was always a real sport & a gentleman. Sadly a dying breed.
Our sincere condolences.
Terry & Sheila Smith.
[ So no I do not consider my own dogs big but when you see them compared to some scrawny little racing bred dogs which, to me, look like something out of Belsen and are too small (there is such a thing as too small as well as too big!!), I know which I prefer!!
I take the breed standard into...
I've had no experience of racing bred dogs, Eli is show bred. I believe racers are likely to be somewhat smaller & finer? If so, is it a considerable difference?
Race breds cover a pretty wide spectrum in size & type. They are on the whole smaller & lighter built than a show bred but there are...
Don't think it's been disregarded! Some of the top lines are still close to the standards. Good specimens always look big just something in the way they move & stand. One top line is noted for being "big" but I was once invited to put a stick against the then leading lights of that kennel. None...
For instance, when you look at my Django his base colour is actually a pale silver fawn but his striping is so heavy that you have to describe him as a black brindle.

WOW!! What a superb looking dog. Is he out of your french dog?

Why a sixteen dog stake when you aren't dependant on hares getting up? In fact why have a stake at all? LC isn't real coursing & never will be. I've seen fifty/sixty dogs run under BSFA rules. Is it just an excuse for the usual "can't do that can't do this" snottiness?

Where is she going tp live? This has some bearing on her plans. The WCRA will exclude certain dogs which have certain bloodlines/individuals in their peds. There are a couple of clubs which sensibly ignore the "wisdom" of the WCRA. So banned lines can run on their tracks. However most Aussie...
