we dont allow the dogs on the furniture at home as thiers just not enough seating as it is ,so when were out we put some old metal walking sticks on the cushons to stop the dogs from getting comfortable,seems to work , give it a try.
LOL :lol: ,my way of thinking is this ,greyhounds were bred to cover a distance in the fastest time possible ,whippets (grews,none peds )have been bred to to compete at the highest level in there own competitions ,LURCHERS are working dogs ,pot fillers ,and they dont posess and wernt bred for...
reading this makes me laugh :lol: ,whenever ive been to lurcher racing most of the top dogs that compete week in and week out are almost entirely grews (greyhound whippets ) or even greyhounds ,if your serious about competing every week then your going to fail if you dont have one of the dogs...
my mate has an HOBART MINCER but even second hand ones arnt cheep ,he lets me mince full rabbits with it and any other bits i may have ,the only reason i use his mincer is to save space in my freezer other wise i just let the dogs chew what ever they are having whole.
the HOBART has no problem...
last year they had a 600mtr race for lurchers ,are they having one this year ?.i would make the journey for a marathon race and im sure the race would fill as it did last year..........jim

big well done to ROGER with andy winning the westy christmas 275yd goody bag race :thumbsup: :thumbsup: ,(the club were going to run this at christmas but had reorganise due to weather conditions) .rogers dog easily winning the event with the forth fastest time of the day 15.47 :thumbsup...

misty dont need to run every week to stay fit ,just needs a good blow out and then can make do with a couple of weeks lead walking if the grounds bad .when i raced greys if one didnt run for 2 or 3 weeks through injury as long as they were well walked on the lead i oftain found it didnt realy...
have you tried LURCHER LINK im not sure if they could help as they are based in halifax, england .but maybe they could put you in touch with a rescue in ireland ?
