    Breeding my whippet

Another consideration. Is the stud dog (and his owner) experienced? You really don't want it to be a first experience for everyone. It's great that she has been checked by the vet, are you happy that the stud owner has also had the relevant tests carried out (see below for what to look for) and...

    Bad wind

Very likely. Still a nuisance though!

    Bad wind

I'm not sure the digesting at different speeds I'd as much of a ”thing” as some people would like us to believe. I mean, we eat carbs, meats and sugars in one meal, they are digested differently but we seem to survive. And dogs have eaten a scavenger diet for thousands of years - dog food is a...

    Bad wind

If that persists, try adding a few kernels of sweetcorn to one meal - that will tell you which meal is being passed during the night. Then you could either feed that one earlier, so he poos before bed time; or later so he can hold it until morning.

    Epilepsy

Have you told your vet? Maybe her meds need tweaked. Also, is it hotter today? I believe keeping cool helps a bit.

    New member

Hello and welcome. First of all, I'm sorry about your mum. How long has the Shih Tzu been with you? And, has the dog stayed overnight before? It is a big change for both of them, so I'd say time will probably help. You may also be behaving slightly differently without realising it, obviously...

    Dog magazines

Everyone's taste is different, it's probably best if you buy a few and see which you enjoy the most.

    Searching for dog trainer

It depends really on what you are trying to train. For basic manners, obedience and fun tricks, Kikopup on YouTube is very good. What are you aiming to achieve?

    Epilepsy

Does she offer any behaviours that would help you decide? If she is still unsettled, I'd probably have a quiet day at home. If she behaves normally, I'd probably stick to your normal routine.

    5month cockerspaniel puppy advice

As above - Hero is a poor quality food, if you have a look at the website www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk, it gives independent reviews of dog foods. If you put in filters for your dog's weight and age, it will also give you an estimated daily cost so you can make proper comparisons. It estimates...

    The Dog Cafe

@Biker John I had another thought. Lots of people who work would love to have a dog, but wouldn't want to leave it all day, even with a couple of dog walker visits. You could perhaps offer one to one daytime dog care?

    The Dog Cafe

Have you thought of fostering? That allows a dog to wait for its forever home in a more comfortable environment than a shelter, and gives you canine companionship without the long term concerns. By the way, we expect at least another ten years from you too, if you please.

Help needed, Skin Problems in Old Dogs

If they need to see a vet about her eyes you could ask about the skin then.

Help needed, Skin Problems in Old Dogs

I'm quite nervous about messing around with eyes, the consequences of getting things wrong are too serious. But it must be annoying him, so I second the advice to contact the vet.

If circumstances had been different, I'd have loved to give that little dog a chance.

    puppy strange teeth

That doesn't look normal, but I wouldn't be losing sleep. If you are planning on having her spayed, perhaps the vet could remove the badly growing teeth at the same time.

    The Dog Cafe

Picture the scene, we are on a campsite in Portugal and next to us is a big German van. Three dogs, two of them mainly kept inside but one (little red dog) was running around outside a lot, off lead. Not doing any harm and sticking close to the van. In fact yesterday, I thought he belonged to...

    New dog

If she lived in the garden most of the time she may never have had to develop bladder or bowel control. So treating her like a puppy is probably the best approach. Do let us know how you get on.

Please don't tell her naughty - you will see in the toilet training guide why scolding her can do more harm than good.
