IDK if it's the BEST and i'm sure someone with entirely to much time on their hands will go to great...
Bax's fur is really shiny on it to but im cheating :p the stuff he's on is marketed as allergy dog food dogs with bad coats so it's got all kinds of extra oils and vitamins and minerals in it for good coats.
Bax is actually vegan by my choice. since i went i thought it would be a bit hypocritical of me to not have him go to. he's doing really well on it, biggest difference ive noticed in an increase in number of poos per day.
yeah my brother had a dog that was allergic to most animal protein. i think he could have like one but i forget which it was. he'd get all scratchy if he had meat.
yeah when i fed bax raw he was 13lbs (so prolly similar size) id prep for about 2weeks-1months worth of meals and it took up half the freezer for standard fridge/freezer combo. that space is no joke......
its not 100% PR but the r/dogtraining subreddit is extremely active and ive had some positive (pun intended) interactions on there. if you cant tolerate ANY discussion of punitive training then perhaps its not for you though.
ooo hadnt thought of that @JudyN
@Kara 1 I went vegan. there's a ton of research out there as to why its perfectly okay to take your dog vegan (posted a thread about it awhile back.) As a very new vegan i went to my vet going "Haha look at these crazy vegans their research must be garbage" and...
@Judy switched him to the vegan from raw and ive noticed a few things.
first his water consumption is waaayyyy up(im guessing they salt kibble generously, i remember this when he was a pup on it) .
he also has to go more pressingly and more often, hes used his puppy pad a few times recently...
So Bax has been on raw for YEARS and im used to his poos looking a certain way. I switched him to kibble and now they look different.
So I'm conducting a census.
What do your dogs poos look like?
How often do they have them?
What do you feed them?
not a HUGE sample size on this study but just be thoughtful about the choice to go grain free FDA In Brief: FDA investigates cases of canine heart disease potentially linked to diet
I do feel bad for a mastiff that comes into work. he had a truly massive set of *cough* and when he got neutered it left quite a bit of skin that just never tightened up. gorgeous dog though
yeah id try to prevent her from getting to it. when bax had a beginning hot spot they gave him an antibiotic cream with something in it to soothe to just to stop the itching
Bax loathes confined spaces and also gets really bad car anxiety. he still hates cares but hes happiest in the front seat with the seat belt clipped in (turns off airbag so its safe for him) and his harness clipped to the seatbelt. he sits on the seat and dozes while we drive. hes close to me...
