    What is your dream dog?

I already have my dream dogs  But I did always want a Deerhound, and I would love another Ridgeback one day :))

    Bank holiday weekend!

I will be on the beach most of the weekend with an assortment of dogs and children (but not all at the same time!) >_< Its the last "Run to the Sun" event here in Newquay at the weekend (music, VW's etc) and everyone is getting ready..all the shops, campsites, lifeguards on the beach, pubs...

    In memory of you

Cheap cardboard coffin for me, too, and hopefully the kids will scatter my ashes somewhere I love to be.. spoiled for choice round here :) I hope to leave the people I love with some happy memories! Apart from that, I'm not bothered. I think its far more important how well you treat people in...

    Neutering and weight gain

Thanks, Hanneroon :) I like to keep my tummy warm, too!! This is my very favourite beach- the beautiful Holywell Bay, but they are spoiled and sulking in this photo, because they would love to be in the dunes instead, chasing bunnies! They are not allowed to go in the dunes in the summer...

    Neutering and weight gain

I agee with everyone else- there is no need for neutering to make any difference to their weight. All my 3 are neutered and are all now six; I havent noticed any weight gain

    Raw feeding

Raw bones shouldnt be a problem at all, but of course you should supervise when they are eating them. I feed raw chicken wings and necks, lamb ribs, whole sprats, liver, kidney, whole rabbits, beef, lamb, tripe, and chicken mince, and heart  Its best to avoid weight bearing or beef...

    Allergic lakeland

Sounds like he would suit a raw diet. Does he have to eat dried food?

    Lets start to get happy

I'm looking forward to some warmer weather. My daughter has been training hard all winter for her surf comps this summer, and I have spent many a freezing hour stood in the shallow waves taking photos and watching to make sure she's ok. I NEED some warm sun :teehee: Already getting lighter...

Toilet training a 2year old lab

Hi :D What time is she fed and what sort of food is she having? She shouldnt need to be going several times through the night. Does she need to pee or poo? If she needs to pee I would suggest taking her to a vet to rule out any urine infection or other problem. If there is nothing obvious, are...

    Nicknames for your dog(s)

The dogs are collectively known as the "Snips" and Verity has somehow been renamed "Moose" or "Peppa" and the silly thing is she answers to all 3 :teehee: The cats have the worst nicknames- they are "Devils Dumpling," "Sir Kennington Montague," "Princess of Darkness" and "Queen of Mean"...

    Bentley in yorkshire

Hi, where are you in Yorkshire? I lived in Halifax for 15 years but I am back home in Cornwall now. I miss the moors and hills and canals though.. but not the snow! :p

Dogs in neckerchief/bandanas - what's the reason behind it?

Not my thing, but I see dog charities have started selling them which is a great way of showing your support at the same time if you like them

    Selling Dog friendly wrapping paper

Hi :) I just looked at this- its lovely paper but at £5 per sheet is not something I would consider buying for a pet to unwrap a gift. Hope everyone else isnt so mean as me!

So I am thinking of getting a red lab? :)

Hi :) Red is not a recognised breed colour for labs.. KC shown labs are yellow, black, or chocolate.

    Who Suppports The rspca?

No, I hate the RSPCA - I would choose to give money instead to some of our smaller local rescues who do a great job

    Thinking of getting a dog!

Prices will probably vary depending on what health tests might be needed for the breed you are looking at. If you are looking at labradors then you should look for breeders which have tested both parents for eyes/hips/elbows. I wouldnt buy from anyone who hadnt had the relevant heath tests done...

    Rhodesian ridgeback puppy

Awww I love RR's and had a beautiful Ridgeback girl some years ago. She was always a very chilled out, laid back girl, although she did go through a manic adolescense for a few months and I came back one day to a completely destroyed settee!! She was a typical Ridgeback in that she was very...

New Home Needed Beautiful miniature pincer needs loving home. (essex)

He is gorgeous  And what a sad descision to have to make, I hope you manage to find a good home. I would definately agree with Cadac to be very careful who he goes to. Please dont offer him free to a good home. Someone who wants him should have enough money to pay something for him (or...
