I'd definitely recommend a Dremmel! Due to Eli's dread of the nail clippers and my patheticness (if that's a word?!), his nails got really long, got a Dremmel last year after reading about it on here, and never looked back. You can get nice and close to the quick without hurting them, and if you...
Fantastic news Ellen, knew you'd end up with a second whippet eventually!
Fiebe is so cute, and what a lucky puppy she is coming to live with you....anyone can tell how much love you have for Dobe, so Fiebe is lucky to have a share in that
Her name looks lovely written down, how is it...
Hooray for the 'slightly less runny' poo :)
You'll be an expert in poos by the end of all this Keith....when William had it people who didn't know about it must have thought I was some sort of poo-obsessed weirdo, I examined and analysed everything he produced, wherever we happened to be...
Keith, don't even think about blaming yourself, it could be any number of things that brought on Jill's condition.
You're right not to chop & change her food about, she just needs to be on the blandest stuff possible (white rice & chicken or white fish...what does your vet suggest?), and plenty...
Olivia's right, a lurcher doesn't have to be a big dog....a whippet crossed with another breed is a lurcher, and will very often not exceed whippet size. My little rescue lurcher Piper was a whippet x 'some sort of terrier' (don't give me any of that 'wherrier' nonsense anyone), and...
Absolutely, I couldn't agree more....I wasn't suggesting using anything instead of her current meds, only that complementary treatments can be useful alongside traditional meds, with vet's approval of course
Has she got a little coat or jumper she could wear around the house to keep...
Yep, William has had pro-kolin on a couple of occasions, it does help to bind the stomach contents, especially helpful when you start giving her tiny amounts of food again.
I found that even plain chicken was too much for William to stomach when he was really bad though, and so gave him plain...
Oh dear Keith, I've only just caught up with this. How horrible for you and poor little Jill :( I know how worried you must be, my William suffers from bouts of colitis, and it's horrifying to see how quickly the weight can drop off them isn't it, and you feel so helpless. I really hope your...
Hmm this is interesting. My vet told me about 4 years ago that Eli had a heart murmur, and each time he goes for a jab or whatever I ask whichever vet we see to just have a listen for it....they always say that it's so low-grade that it's not worth worrying about. Does make you wonder if it's...
Or Hebridean? I love their little browny-black babies  The mummys are really grumpy tho!
Even with the wire, lovely spring pics Gillian
William had comedy ears on and off about a month ago, but (dare I say it) they seem to have calmed down now.
For a while every time I looked at him, especially if I caught him unawares, he seemed to have one ear stuck up smack in the middle of his head, while the other one dangled limply down...
