Hi all,
I've seen them at dog racing venues - a ruler with a sliding bit to accurately measure their shoulder size - I've tried 'dog measure' and 'dog ruler' in my search engine... I thought I'd track my pups growth and a tape measure makes them very very excited - oooh its a snake! :wacko...
Lukkylady - Lukkyjakie more like! how perfect for him to been found by you - Juley is right, we definitely need to see a photo of him - without the ribs!!
Hats off to you for your compassion. x
Ha ha, you obviously don't feed yours stinky tripe! - I'm going to try this tonight as el husbando is going into 'beautiful lawn mode' groannnnn, it must be spring again.
Hi all,
if a single judge is judging both dogs and bitches at a (UK) champ show, how will the running order go? For instance will MPD be followed by MPB or will the dogs be all, say in the morning and the bitches in the afternoon? or is this up to the individual show committee or the judges...
Hi Carla and Poppy,
this happened to me many moons ago - worse still, we were going to stay in a caravan with another entire male dog!!!!
I had Bella injected (at the vets) to stop the season - it delays the season for a short period - can't remember too much about it - other than it worked...
Woo hoo! I've had this problem for ages too Tracey - it drives me mad too, not to mention taking ages to go thru each thread.
Thank you for the solution Pippywhippet! I never even noticed an options box before - I wonder if there are any other useful buttons I haven't noticed ??? a tea-making...
Hi Dizzyliz, I'm interested!!!! I'm still seething after the Leeds ban!
I wonder what logic (or lack of) the Suffolk council has used in this brainless decision??? How can you ban one animal at an agricultural show and not another - what criteria are they applying? And where will it end...
Hi Hawky,
I completely agree with everything said already. But just to say, rest assured, it doesn't last forever - they all try it on at some stage, some worse than others! but given consistent, loving guidance (and walking them away from busy roads whilst they are in their rebellious phase)...
There#s a sweet little 6mth staffie x whippet dog in my area - Roundhay Leeds for sale on Preloved - £40 ovno. He looks lovely -- brindle and 6ms old and has a whippety head - can't see anything else!!!

Apologies if I'm not allowed...

Wow! he's gorgeous! lucky lucky you! do ex trotters have any problems becoming 'normal' horses? can they do ordinary trotting, or do they occasionally do the pacing trotting? sorry if this is a gormless question!

Hi Daveycrocket,
welcome to the whippet world! I have no experience of this earflapping with mine, (plenty with vets charging thru the nose though! )
I just wanted to post to say what a beautiful face your lovely girl has - what 's her name?
Also totally agree re. Scruples. That way you'll get peace of mind in knowing that Nigel and Brian get the very best new start having made what must have been a very brave and difficult decision. Very good luck to you and your boys. :luck:
An interesting reply:
The consultation period consisted of being able to fill in a questionnaire online, which I spend a great deal of time doing. I only found out about the questionnaire by word of mouth via my local dog walking friends in my local park - if it was publicised then it was...
Thank you Wildwhippies and Tracy - and TTT - lol :D
I'm hugely impressed with the graph - another good excuse for idling my hours away at my computer! I do weigh mine compulsively.
But Wildwhippies, 48lb Beef? surely that was not a whippet weight? AND Sascha the 'bully whippet' - I've...
Hi Sue,
wow! what an unusual fear from your girlie! I'm not sure if finding the initial fear provoking incident will help, I think you have to tackle what you are left with. I can't imagine how I'd tackle this in any other way than desensitising which you are already doing BUT I wouldn't...
Hi all,
just picking your collective brains - does the comparative weight of a pup have any bearing on its eventual size/height when adult? I've just bred a 10oz girlie with 9oz brothers and 8oz sisters - she has a longer frame but is now equal to her sisters in weight @ 3wks - will she be a...
Hi Trish, I may pick your brains on this location when heat is off! Once upon a time I had relaxing whippie walks - trust some silly council do-gooder to disturb the peace!
