If your boy is used to whippet company he is probably very lonley for whippet companionship.
Perhaps you could contact Jane at Scruples whippet rescue. It may be that you could foster a whippet for Scruples and if things work out between the two dogs consider adopting. My gut feeling would be...
No decent responsible trainer would ask you to leave a class because your dog soiled itself in fear. If your dog is assessed as having a serious problem it may be that a trainer might suggest a few private sessions to start with. You do need to do something about this. It is not fair on your...
It sounds like your whippet is behaving the way she does out of real fear. Poor wee girl, it sounds as if she is terriffied :(
Puppies need to be socailzed with other dogs from an early age to avoid this kind of fear. At the age she is now, I would get her booked into socialization class as...
If you are happy with Silas sharing your bed, I would stick with that. He is obviously happy with the arrangement :D
Being an only whippet, the company and warmth will offer him security and he will be less likely to get cold and need to go to the toilet.
If his recall is going downhill, you...
Lovely photos.
I love Bluebells. My friend has a Bluebell woodland in her garden and I always enjoy visiting at this time of year.
Dotty & Duke look like they were having a great time.
Toddy, Lilly, Daisy and I had a lovely walk yesterday at the John Muir Country Park in East Lothian.
We joined members of the Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary and the weather was perfect. Many thanks to all concerned for making us so welcome.
I started a thread that seems to have caused a K9 listing infringement and has been deleted, so I will start again.

The Moderators of the form have confirmed that posting links to sites such as ePupZ, pets4 homes and such is construed as advertising.
There appear to be no exceptions even if it concerns a dog or bitch in vulnerable circumstances.
Lately, such posts have been removed or the rule emphasized...
There ia a difference between a member of K9 using the site to sell thier dog or puppies and a link to an advertisment where the dog in question is being sold on another site and is deamed to be 'at risk'
Such links assist members of the 'Rescues' and members of K9 find and help these dogs...
Why do you not stop bickering amongst yourselves and grow up.
This is a public forum and those concerned do nothing to bring credit to its members or to the breed
I think I paid £4.50 each for the plastic Lurcher Muzzles about a year ago. I cannot remember what the whippet ones were. I ordered 3 as the postage cost for 1-3 worked out the same. A lot cheaper than eBay and available in standard and extra long length whippet and lurcher.
Hi
I have used the plastic ones to great effect. The dogs soon learn to drink with them on. They are not as robust as the wire ones but I do prefer them. I buy 2-3 at a time direct from the manufacturers http://www.midlandgreyhound.co.uk/index.html
Best price and a good company to buy from...
I believe that there is one called Bitch spray http://www.bactonature.com/bitchspraytest.html .
My girls are all speyed so I have no experience of its effectiveness but perhaps someone else on the forum may know.
Many thanks
I am trying to find the plastic ones in a smaller size as I use the muzzles to stop Daisy eating things that upset her stomoch and the wire ones are not much use for that :teehee:
