I have a young dog thats recently had a similar experience and i believe that only time will heal this sort of injury...

I usually get Karen to hold the dog put a big towel over its head after ragging the dog with it that way they think its a game then i cut them quicklywhilst they are not expecting it..best things to cut are those what chiropodist use like side cutters---

Well as it has been brought up once more ---
Why should dogs that either run straight or follow the lure be at a diss-advantage and have no choice where they run from and have to go in the middle traps???
Surely they are just as entitled to run from the outside traps as any other dog thats...
Still possible even at 35lb top end---at half yard---just give some others a chance to win makes for better racing also less injuries the closer the finishes

Whilst i understand the reason for lurcher only bit
i think as it is only for fun ---- i think that my mates dog who is not allowed to run with whippets even though registered should be allowed to take part in this ---as he runs ok with the lurchers and has done in previous meetings at West...
Why not have a open where you go weigh in draw a colour and just run-- soon as you have five dogs your first race is sorted -- only would need five colours red/ blue/ white/ black/ orange--and races would sort themselves out ----with whatever the weight of dog you come up against ---no weight...
As long as there is some common sense applied who cares what we race out of could be a cardboard box for all i care so long as all are same -- that is not the issue here as far as i can see ---more just to stop the breeding getting to the xxxxl size glad my mum never had these restrictions...
