This occasionally scares the heck out of small dog owners encountering Miles and his friendly friends...
But it's a sign of love and affection (and not an indication of a hungry dog).
There is something slightly intimidating about Bouviers, but under all that hair they are really sweet.
We have 2 grey boys and a white girl in the circle of Miles' friends. Unlike Miles, they all enjoy cold weather.
Snow came. Big hairy ones love it, Marvelous Baby Miles - not so much.
Miles and all his friends would like to wish everyone a very happy, healthy and safe 2025!
Schools are closed for the winter break, so dogs can enjoy football (soccer) field without having to coexist with kids playing.
Here...
Nice to see him active outside.
Soon it will get warmer, and walks will become mostly slow strolls with lots of laying in the grass and sunbathing.
We often meet others who are "working hard on not jumping, not running around, not this, not that, not the other thing."
My head agrees with all of...
Now here is a nice sign, isn't it? In contrast to often displayed "No dogs allowed on grass"...
Despite everything we read in the papers these days, there is still kindness out there. Cheers to that, and Happy Holidays to everyone.
An aging dream of mine came true last week, thanks to Baby Miles who was paying attention on our morning walk in the woods - we found a lost dog, a good size black lab. He had no tags, so we waited, and waited.. and waited.. and eventually ran out of patience and took him home.
Good thing that...
Hope all bipeds and quadrupeds are well and ready for the holiday season!
Baby Miles just turned 4 y.o. Scary, isn't it? :)
Here is what he's been doing this year - spending time with friends, joining us on all kinds of explorations, and being a very, very good boy!
I took this picture in Central Park in NYC last weekend. A man and his elderly dog.
The man's arm stretched so the dog can rest his head on it... Gentle stroking...
This is love, isn't it? It was a beautiful scene.
Every day is precious. This guy gets it.
It's good to have next door neighbors with big dogs!
Chocolate lab girl - about 2 y.o.
White akbash boy - about 1 y.o. The interesting thing about him is that he is intact, just like Miles (3 y.o. Ridgeback), so we have 2 young intact males in this mix.
Miles has usually the least amount of...
... 2 little urns. Our tiny cat-girl joined our 1st boy Ari on the other side. They actually loved each other, but she has not warmed up to Miles at all.
I guess we followed JudyN's footsteps, in a way, with a cat+dog household.
Chapters keep ending, one after the other. JudyN and Mr N - hugs to...
A few highlights from the year almost gone, to show what Miles has been up to.
He just turned 3, at the end of November.
Lots of hiking in the mountains or nature parks... But we visit a city dog playground from time to time, believe it or not, and have made a few friends there.
Hope everyone...
Miles is not a fan of hot and humid days, so we have to go to where water is, even if it means 30 min drive each way. On the water he perks up.
Today the only playmate was 11 y.o. He did his best to keep up with Miles, but quickly settled in the shade for a nap, leaving Miles to entertain...
