    Happy birthday Rolo

Gillycrossescolliesoffthelist* Thanks for the info....I knew there were certain things to check out, healthwise, but to find out how bad epilepsy is, IS terrible. I know it's not the end of the world as a factor if I were wanting to adopt a rescue with this condition - we had two cats with...

    New Whippet pup Mom

I agree with Whippylove.....ditch the treadmill. I would worry about it being too much exercise for a young developing pup's growth plates and body. I always remember one judge telling me she could always tell dogs that had been over-exercised and/or raced as youngsters by their over-developed...

    Happy birthday Rolo

My last dog was a whippet too and she was a total snuggle monster :D Over the past couple of years, when we've been watching a dog programme on tv and debating what type of dog to go for when it's time to get another, we always somehow end up back at sighthounds....we DO seem to like our skinny...

That's Barter Books. And yes, they let dogs in too. I think they're closed at the moment due to this dratted virus.

    Grisly alternative to a stick

Oh god I'd forgotten all about this aspect of living with dogs  Tina whippet was never really one for chasing other animals (she preferred human cuddles) but one walk at Boulmer beach she disappeared underneath a gorse bush and emerged with a dead rabbit! Normally she was very good...

    What animal could this be?

That's one huge pawprint!!! Could it be a bear? Or a REALLY big dog breed like a Newfoundland etc? Gorgeous photos of your dog BTW :)

Yes, I've looked on a few local retired greyhound sites and one of them even does cat-testing and says if their dogs are ok with smaller pets in the household. We'll probably begin searching for our dog(s) in a month or two's time as, at the moment, I'm busy concentrating on our very weedy &...

    New Member Saying Hello

It's a Neil 'thing' He's the one insisting on a female (I'm happy with either sex and have had both in the past) and I've said we'll go for a wee girlie. When he was a child one of his friend's had a male dog and according to Neil this dog would deliberately make a beeline for him...

Enter shop with dog in the backpack

When I worked in a shop (newsagent/post office) we had a tiled floor and often had dog owners pop in. Some tied their dogs up outside but the occasional one would carry their's in. I used to say it was never a problem....I'd rather have well behaved dogs coming in than some of the schoolkids who...

    Please complain if ...

I cannot understand why folks are still so reluctant to wear the masks. I work at McDonald's and been back at work since early June 2020 and it's been compulsory since we returned to work. You soon get used to them and forget they're on....apart from the occasional glasses misting up!

Hello everyone! :) Thanks for letting me join this forum. I'm Gill, married to Neil and we live in rural Northumberland. We sadly do not have a dog at the moment as our last, Tina whippet, passed away in August 2008 (terrifying to think that was 13 years ago....where has the time gone?). Soon...
