    Patella Luxation

Ted has his operation on his back right leg yesterday. He's home now, it all went well and he's feeling sleepy, and a little out of sorts as expected. He needs the 'lampshade' on for about 10 days until the vet sees him for a check up but he'll be crated for 4 weeks. This will be a period of...

Anxiety / reactivity - advice please!

That may be an idea..our trainer has said that once he is up for moving about she will send some advice but his training began because of his reactivity with dogs so I guess we'll be taking it slowly and training and recovering simultaneously! 😉

Anxiety / reactivity - advice please!

Training will be on hold soon as he's having an operation on Friday because he's been diagnosed with stage 2 and 3 patella luxation in back legs. He's gonna need a slow and steady recovery. 😪 He now has a elevated bed which he is loving and we hope this helps with his comfort. His trainers...

Anxiety / reactivity - advice please!

We have the same problems with Ted, his new trainer have told us to stop walks....just walking out the door.heightens him instantly. So we are teaching 'find it' throw a treat at a short distance at home...then 'with me' when he finds it and looks back at me...then ' orientation' same thing but...

    Patella Luxation

We have a 2 and half yr old male springer/cocker/ poodle mix. He's always walked a little funny but never showed pain or reluctant to do anything. We've started with a new trainer as his reactivity is in need of support...they have noticed he sometimes limps. Anyway, after vet visit and xray he...

    Neck scabs?

The aloe vera gel arrived today, a huge pot..Ted was quite happy to sit and let me rub it on the few scabby areas. Fingers 🤞 they heal soon.

    Neck scabs?

Please help. I hope its ok to post the following pictures. We have over the day or two discovered some scabs with small black bits around Ted's neck area. He hasn't been seen scratching or in any discomfort, even when we are having a good look at them. There are about 4/5 , a couple under his...

How many have dogs that never come off lead?

I think it's easy to feel like you've failed as a dog owner these days. But today as I walked Ted at 6am away from the heat weve been having, we had a lovely forest walk where he sniffed loads and I stopped whenever he wanted to because it's his walk, not mine! He found a puddle from absolutely...

How many have dogs that never come off lead?

Thankyou, I have dog mum guilt! Only yesterday he was in a private dog field that you can hire for an hr at a time... with a buddy and he had a great time so that's always available and local.

How many have dogs that never come off lead?

Just wondering ....Teddy's recall is hit and miss, he was amazing until about 8 months old when he suddenly forgot all we'd taught..we've got long lines and on walks we get him to check in ' Teddy come' and he's fine..but other dogs about and he totally ignores...even if I have his favourite...
