Hi, I'm just writing in case anyone in the Lovedean/Waterlooville/Denmead area (Hants) can identify a lost a whippet. My vet just called (and gave me a scare) asking if Obi was missing as someone had bought in a dog matching his description. Obi is right here so it must be another brindle...
PS he is looking a little fed up as I had just been fiddling about with the collar and taking photos - he isn't a fan of the red light the camera uses to focus!
Here are some pics of Obi in his new collar. I got it from AK creations, who was really helpful (not to mention reasonably priced!).
yes, that is Morrissey!
I'm really pleased with it :)
Personally, I think that if you want to protect your property you should go get an alarm. I think it is wrong to own or breed a dog just because you think it will be the "ultimate home guardian" (not to mention asking for trouble). Whippets are definitely not aggressive, and would not excel at...
Thanks so much for all the advice.
The 'Skinny molly' thread was really helpful, he looks a similar size to her (shame I don't have his measurements at the mo), possibly slightly more pointy. I'd post a photo but I've only got ones of him at his heaviest that I posted a link to when I joined...
I'm getting a bit worried as I've been looking at everyone's photos and Obi seems really skinny in comparison. He is only two and a half, I was wondering if he will fill out naturally as he gets older?
Also, he has been staying with my Mum for a bit while I finish my degree and move house, and...
I understand that you are upset about your dog damaging furnishings etc, but I always thought that cages or 'crates' were something that a puppy should be raised with, not a quick fix or a punishment (although I am aware that they are used in this way). I don't want to sound condescending, or...
I have noticed a similar thing with Obi - I wouldn't say his ears get dry but sometimes little clumps of dead skin come off and the hair comes with them. Is this something I should be concerned about? :ermm:
Forgot to say, Obi does this too. He can get very manic and overexcited by it. He also goes mad if you blow on him or if it is windy outside. It seems to enrage him!
Obi has a habit of nibbling with his front teeth, I call it 'snicking'. Its like what they do when they are itching/grooming themselves but he does it to toys, blankets, clothes to comfort himself before he goes to sleep. He also does it to people to show affection, which is very sweet but also...
Hi,
I'm Penny, just thought I'd say hello. I wanted to post a couple of photos of my beautiful Dejare Oberon, but I can't quite get the hang of it. Here is a link
(I hope!) to my photobucket album if anyone wants to have a look:
