I Have recently discovered that I have a dog that thinks he's Chris Bonnington. Come to think of it he's got a beard too. Anyway I was away camping recently and Angus my Deerhound cross decided that the beach in a remote part of Wales where we were visiting was far less interesting than the...
....But just to add that I think with Angus there is a lot of the Saluki selective deafness plus the fact that he has got into bad habits. I am only just managing to get his recall up to scratch. But - he IS a rescue and I think he is worth a bit of work! :)
It is interesting stuff alright ! The more I've watched my dogs the more interested I become! The Beddie sisters have shown differences along, for example, they have been taking the odd myxied rabbit lately,( live/half alive/dead/in advanced stage of decomposition etc) Jet brings them close in...
It's interesting to see the differences in terms of retrieving in different dogs. As iv'e mentioned above, I've got two Beddie x litter sisters (14 months now)They both show promise but one definately has the edge when it comes to intelligence and 'go'. Skye, the one in question is slightly...
I know the feeling Boom - been there as well! Got myself a 1/4 Bedlington pup last year and was faced with THE DECISION . There were two bitches left and although I knew which was the one for me, I found it hard to resist the boot button eyes of the sister. Nevertheless, resist I did...
Good looking dog :) What's the breeding? I have a "Jet" too - see my pics. Did you pick the name for the speed/colour or both? Great minds think alike eh!!
Hi all, just wondering if I should enter my dog in some of the lurcher races at the summer shows. One of my dogs in particular is really fast and loves to chase. The dog is also in top condition so it wouldn't be too much for her. trouble is she's only fourteen months and not fully entered yet...
Tess (the white with brindle) is three quarter whippet quarter greyhound. The black dog, Jet, is a bedlington x greyhound/collie x greyhound. The collie is more obvious in Jet, but Skye (her litter sister) has obvious beddie looks (and character (w00t) )
Hi there- new to this forum , usually on the lurcher one but this looks good too. I've got five dogs : Tess (3/4 Whippet/greyhound) , Skye and Jet (Bedlington x ) Angus (Deerhound x) and Moll (Collie x). Tess is a rescue who was passed from owner to owner for the five years of her life , the...
This sort of thing makes me fume    I have a 3/4 whippet/greyhound (Tess) and a motely collection of lurchers Angus (Deerhoundx, Jet and Skye (Beddie x sisters)plus honourary lurcher colliex Moll (think she's a lurcher). With having this lot It's no fun if you meet any...
Interesting what folk say about Bedlington types. I've never had one before, favouring deerhound or bitza types. My Skye is 1/4 Bedlington but seems to have thrown towards the Beddie side. She looks very Beddie and ......well.......acts Beddie too. She is a lot more active and feisty than other...
 nigel.
Sound advice! As I said in my original post, Iv'e had working dogs before but never brought pups up from scratch. I think I've been lucky in the past , for example I have a five year old 3/4 whippet greyhound bitch who I got again from rescue. On the first trip out she shot off...
