Hi all,
I wonder if there are any others out there with a similar weirdo to our young lad.
He's a saluki cross, roughly 2 years old and has been neutered.
Most evenings he does zoomies around our house and garden.
Around the same sort of time, he gets quite excited - you can see it in his body...
Yep, we've had 2 Greyhounds and they'll take as little or as much exercise as you have time for (although not to the same level as colllies or springers!!)
Our current girl spends much of the day flat on her back but does often have a mad 5 minutes in the evening. They're gentle and loving dogs...
Yep, our lad used to eat our other dog's poo occasionally. I've heard putting pineapple into the other dog's food prevents this sometimes (didn't work for us but in case it helps).
We once had a boxer with a penchant to cow poo - his first time in a field of cows involved him running flat out...
Wow, he's exactly like our young lad shortly after we got him. He looks lovely :)
As the others have said, they're nutty as squirrel poo so settle in for a few years and enjoy it :D . Our lad does the typical zoomies around garden, into the house, leaps, hits the back of one of the sofas...
Neither of my two can go off lead as they just won't recall (the joys of some sighthounds huh).
I often see people give us a wide berth as they presumably think they're on leads as they can be funny (they're far from it!)
Roughly 50% of the time people will stop to allow their dogs to say...
We've had a mixture (of breeds and sexes) both are great but we've always found boys to be overall more affectionate to everyone in the family - whereas our girls have always bonded with me most.
Our sprocker barely left my side, our current greyhound (female) mostly cuddles up to me. But our...
The local group to me (Basingstoke) are pretty friendly so I would assume most wouldn't mind if you went for a jog with them anyway :) . Why not ask; "mad dog lady wants to have a go at canicross, mind if I tag along" - or something like that :) :)
Hi all,
Like many people, our back garden is very very wet at this time of year.
Now add to that we have a 2 year old saluki that likes to run around it (at least twice per day) at mach 2. So currently it resembles a scene from the Battle of the Somme - or maybe just a ploughed field...
Hi, maybe take a look at Facebook for local canicross groups. From what I've found, it's not all as serious as that photo seems to make out. Basically, it's just a group of people going out for a jog with their dogs.... :)
And there was me thinking I'm a bit weird when I get really anxious when we leave our two to go away.
Good to know there are others in the same boat out there :D
We have a 6 year old Greyhound that's just too easy to look after (aside from zero recall!) plus a 10 month old (ish) lurcher cross...
Hi, hope you don't mind but we have a very similar issue with a young lurcher cross and I can't find how to subscribe to a post without adding a comment :)
Our boy was a rescue at around 3 months after being found abandoned. He's really friendly to everyone but goes mad when he sees other dogs...
