Thanks for the replies! You’d think that a big hairy beast running at them barking bloody murder would make them think twice about hanging around the garden! Perhaps we need to shoo them out more as well when we see them and he doesn’t.
Hello,
This is more a post about cats really but with my dog’s best interest in mind! I wondered if anyone knew of any cat deterrents that we could use in our garden to keep the neighbour’s cats away. Our dog gets really wound up and chases them when they come into the garden and I’m terrified...
What a lucky dog he was to have found you! Thank you for sharing your experience - it’s great to hear other success stories and tips. He loves squeaky toys, tennis balls and treats at home... out of the house he’s intermittently interested, as long as there’s nothing more interesting going on...

We went to some woods nearby where...
Thank you for all of your words of wisdom. In regards to neutering: he is intact only because our trainer suggested that the negatives of neutering outweighed the positives, including the increase in fear and anxiety when testosterone is taken away. Since we have felt that his aggression stems...
That’s really interesting, thank you for your response. The three Ds concept sheds some light on his seemingly drastically varying responses. I think the key is, as you said, expecting it to take months rather than weeks. It is disheartening and easy to feel defeated when results of his training...
Hello,

Our dog is an intact male 2 year old...
Thank you so much for your advice and reassurance. So much of what you've said makes sense; and yes in hindsight he always eats alone so of course being fed with another dog would be strange for him. I have never known anyone to tease him with food, and certainly it doesn't happen in our...
Hello,
I'm hoping someone will be able to shed some light on my dog's new behaviour; he is an 11 month old un-neutered golden retriever cross poodle and has thus far been nothing but gentle-natured. He is very friendly and social with people and other dogs (albeit a little boisterous) and has...
