    Strange change in behaviour

If you can, try and get some video. I’m just wondering if it might be some kind of seizure. Maybe he comes over to you for reassurance when he feels it coming on and then reacts as it’s happening. Is he making any other repetitive movements?

Raising a puppy in a flat and working shifts. Need advice

Can only echo what everyone else says - please please please do not get a puppy. I’m afraid your circumstances are completely unsuitable. Have you thought about Borrow My Dog or volunteering for the Cinnamon Trust if you’re desperate for some dog time?

Please help- my dog has suddenly changed , lethargic and un-interested- 5years old

Go back to the vet - pref a different one. Did they even test a urine sample for an infection? My dog had a UTI but it was missed initially as she had a normal temp.

About to get a (rescue) dog - do I need a crate?

I have ‘uncrate trained’ a rescue dog before as they were using it as a crutch to hide from the world and wouldn’t come out! Have also crate trained a rescue dog - even though she was brilliantly behaved in the house - in order to put on her doggy CV to make her more adoptable. She displayed...

My dog and my daughter with special needs

That’s amazing. Scout definitely knows when my daughter has had one and just settles down and understands breakfast and her walk will be delayed. My daughter usually has them as she’s waking up first thing in the morning and Scout sleeps downstairs so isn’t in the room to alert us.

My dog and my daughter with special needs

Did you do anything to train your dog to alert to your son’s seizures or did he just seem to know anyway?

    Pros & Cons of spaying

Yes, this is why I might not make the same decision again. So many things to consider, I think everyone has to do their own research and then make a judgement call. But I wouldn’t ever criticise anyone for making a different decision to me.

    Abduction - in plain sight

That’s horrific. The sad fact is children are more at risk from their parents than from ‘dangerous’ dogs.

My dog and my daughter with special needs

hi, just wondered if anyone else is in a similar position to me. I have a 6 yr old daughter with a rare chromosome condition and epilepsy. She’s wonderful and funny and determined and I love her to pieces. But certain aspects of life can be hard and my dog is such an emotional help to me. I...

How often do you walk your dog?

Agree. And it’s such a bonding activity, why wouldn’t you want to do it?

    Pros & Cons of spaying

This is a very contentious topic - you really do have to do your reading and decide what works for you. Some of the research from the US seems to be further advanced so see if you can Google some American papers / websites. I made the decision to have my dog spayed at 6 months because at the...
