My friend is a vet in Newcastle. A client brought his 14 year old whippie/lurcher in to be pts today as he had a relationship breakdown and can't take the dog into his new accomodation.

I dont know all the ins and outs obviously, but he agreed to sign Sally over to the vet for rehoming so there is now a 14 year old black lurcher looking for a home.

She needs a dental which will be done while she is being fostered in the vets. Apparently she is really friendly, good with other dogs but hates cats. Also good on and off lead, and is remarkably spritely for her age. If they hadnt been told she was 14 they would have put her between 8 and 10.

If anyone is interested, or can help she is at First Vets in Heaton, Newcastle Upon Tyne

Tel. 0191 276 1064

Bless her :huggles: As someone going through a divorce I can understand the practicalities but poor Sally. Would love to be able to help but think my bouncy 2yr old Whippet boy might be a bit much for her to cope with.

i hate seeing things like this. :( it always upsets me more when an old dog is made homeless through no fault of their own,i always think how confused and upset an old person would be never mind an old dog.breaks my heart. :( hope this poor old girl gets a truly wonderful home for her last few years. :luck: :luck: :luck: im keeping everything crossed for her.good luck old girl :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

Don't you just love the oldies - hope Sally gets a wonderful home very soon :luck: :luck: :luck:

Hooooooray - Sally has a home :D

One of the vets clients took her home today.

oh thats wonderful news Rae.im so glad shes got a home.ill sleep tonight now :)

That is such lovely news, what a wonderful person to take an oldie on :huggles:

Yes thats great!

Oldies make fab pets.I have a 14 year old Bichon,Leo. All he wants is his food ,water,a slow walk and lots of cuddles.

He still looks at me in such a loving way although now,his eyes are cloudy. Wouldnt be without out him :huggles:
