16 month Saluki cross recently diagnosed with grade 1 heart murmer

I took my dog for vaccines in november 2021 and no murmer then. I took him this week for kennel cough nose drops this week and was shocked when she spend an eternity listening to left hand side of his heart, right briefly. She said not to worry and calked it an innocent murmer.I have read on here and googling that older puppies can naturally have self reoair. I have also read hounds with big chests can be incorrectly diagnosed. I think he may be crossed with a greyhound, just guessing that side of him. He is big and I think still growing. Love to hear from other barrel chested dog owners particularly but anyone kind enough to post. Thanks pascalina

It's very common with lurchers, and especially with pups. Usually it resolves itself.

Thanks, it was easy. It is a lovely thing you are doing, fostering. I think it makes a huge difference to dogs who are waiting for their forever home. Particularly puppies as they don't miss out on all those new things to learn, besides living in a home. It really is very special.
