found this program of the 1980 bwra champs at measham,can't believe it was 26 year ago but it was a privlige to see a fantastic dog race :thumbsup:

hope it works and you can read it just shows how whippet racing as declined over the years by the amount of dogs that attended these champs and then you had to qualify two from each class/region :- "

I used Mo Evil John in 1988 to my cracking bitch Sally 3/4 Grayhound 1/4 Collie and got plenty of early pace. Really nice owners.

i was there when mo evil won it. john if you look at your program did Gold&Silver run that day in the 26 lb Dogs ?

Measham was great, great atmosphere, great people but as Athur reminded me when he went to the gent's he had to roll his trousers up so we really do not realize or appreciate how lucky we were with Old Hall and Ashfordby, but then I suppose there was a lot more people using the facilities in those days (no evening entertainment for members either).

Remember it well! saw some greats - Good as Gold - Dasher.

We run a few dogs ourself there - Rififi - Sam SpadeIt was thrilling running from track to track seeing dogs run you never saw before only read about. And everyone shouting home there local dogs, what a day. But you can't turn back the clock so everyone should pull together and try to make the most of what we have got
