As u all know.There is some sort of debate going on.About who or what qualifies for this,and who or what,doesnt.Terry,and Joe,came up with the idea of this event.Long before i was a commitee member,of this club.The idea was.That all Lurcher,Terrier,and Whippets,that were given the status of either show champion,in their breed.Or racing champion,in their breed.Would,automaticaly qualify,to take their place,alongside other dogs.Who also became show or race champions.The length,and breadth of Ireland.These dogs would have to be qualifiers,from LURCHER AND TERRIER SHOWS.Nothing else.After greast discussion.It was agreed,that the main race days down south.Which have nothing whatsoever,to do with LURCHER AND TERRIER SHOWS.Would also be given a qualifying spot.There are normaly about 4 of these.Which would give quite a few other folk,who might not attend normal lurcher n terrier shows.A chance to meet,and race dogs they've never met.From throughout ireland.We have stepped outside the original plans,and rules.To accomodate these dogs,and give them every chance of competing against the best,of the best.Maybe next year.We can go one better,and make every race champion in ireland,that hasnt qualified at a show.A qualifier for this one.As for this year.We are still taking baby steps.If anyone wants to make their champions a qualifier.Then all they have to do.Is include some sort of TERRIER AND LURCHER SHOW.Into their doggy program.Even its one class for all terriers,AND THE SAME FOR LURCHERS,AND WHIPPETS.There is a comitee meeting tomorrow night.Where i will bring up a few points that have been raised,about different things,as regards to who,or what is a qualifier.If there are to be any more changes to these simple ruled.Then i will be only to pleased ,to forward them on,through here,on wednesday.So bear with me folks.
