got my friends 50 th birthday party, 70's fancy dress, I'm looking forward to it, anyone got any photo's of themselves in that type of fancy dress (or originals (w00t) (w00t) )

will have to trawl the hire shops on Sat.

last fancy dress we went to was years ago I wore ahuge wrapped cardboard box and was a christmas present (difficult to pee !) and O.H. dressed as friar Tuck with stockings and suzzies on !!!! (yes, I know, what happened there !)

Great, can I come too? I grew up in the 70's (showing my age here)

Years ago I went to a fancy dress as Marc Bolan, dyed my hair black (temp colour) & everything, gold lame jacket too

Thankfully there is no photographic evidence of it, I still cringe when I think what I looked like. I was about 2 stone overweight at the time, oh the shame still haunts me :b

A group of friends all went as "Thriller" & they looked brilliant & had practised the dance routine. They won first prize I think.

At another do me & a friend went as Kentucky Fried Chickens. There is a pic of that somewhere. I'll root it out & if it's not as awful as I remember I'll put it on here. It took us ages to do the costumes.

Have a look in the charity shops too, they usually have a "Vintage" :- " section

Don't forget we want to see pics of whatever you go as.

Julie.

I had my works christmas do which was 60's fancy dress (w00t) it was such a laugh going in and trying on all the clothes  I would of loved it to have been 70's, then I could of gone as Abba!!

Yea defo go round the charity shops, my mam n dad went to a party dressed as Bobby Ball and Miss Marple they looked ace, n all there stuff was from charity shop. Much cheaper than hire plus then uve got it for other times. il try and root out a jpic of em!

This was me and OH getting ready for Liz's (alfie's) 40th birthday party a couple of years ago :- " - hope you have lots of fun! :luck:

you look great !

going to town Sat. to see some outfits, wish I was slim and I'd wear a lurex bell bottom cat suit with cut away sides, but I don't want to make anyone at the party sick with my wobbly bits :- "

I'll let you know how we get on !

if you Google 1970s outfits, on Images, it brings up loads of photos of clothing ideas (sadly, I'm old enough to remember wearing those outfits!! (w00t) :D )

Good luck!

IT WAS A GREAT LAUGH (w00t)

Got OH rigged out in a purple velour pimp suit with leopard print collars and flare insets with hat and I went as his 'bit of fluff' with a zebra print (very) mini halter neck dress, matching boots, hat and a long red wig !

sorry I have a problem with my camera connection to computer at the mo, but when my nephew has sorted it I'll post the pics.

The OH's were made up with all the mini's and hotpants and loved every minute of being dressed up themselves :- " no-one broke an ankle on their glittery platforms and I had a dance with Ziggy Stardust, the best was Mick Jagger who was obviouslya real fan since he had all the moves off to perfection

Great to see so many turn out in fancy dress and I'm only just feeling back to normal now....but getting an early night after all the boogying....can't cope with the pace nowadays :- "
