Hi everyone :)

Just a wee note with a few queries I have about Scruples whippet rescue.

Well we've been interested in getting another whippet for quite a while; after looking after a friends "non-whippet" we realised how good whippets are compared to some other breeds and we also realised that it might be quite nice to own multiple dogs, now that we've had Daisy for over 2 years.

We were at first considering a puppy but we thought it might be nice to give a second chance to one of the beautiful adult whippets currently without a home. We looked at a number of different rescue organisations, but there didn't seem to be any near us that had any whippets on offer. So after looking at the k9s in need section on here we decided we'd look at Scruples. Immediately we saw a couple of whippies that we really liked and looked like they might seem suitable for us (we felt that an adult would be a better option). So we filled out the application form and immediately we got a reply saying that our application had been received and that we should allow up to 7 days for them to get back to us. That was 2 weeks ago and we still haven't received a response from them. So does this mean our application has been rejected? Or are they just busier than normal and so taking longer to respond. I just thought that seeing as they are based in England and Wales and we live in Scotland, they might just ignore our application, however it says they are willing to rehome of the whippets in particular in Scotland. I'm considering writing an email to them asking if they received our application but I don't want to seem too pushy  What do you think I should do? I know some of you are very familiar with Scruples and I just wondered if any of you might be able to help.

Thanks :)

Scruples Annie here ... no you've not been rejected, quite the opposite  (And if you had been rejected we'd have let you know, we never leave anyone hanging.) I can only apologise for the delay, unfortunately we are a very small charity run by volunteers and one of the trustees who deals with the applications has been on holiday and the other one, me, has been unwell. Watch your email inbox for a reply very soon

Aww thanks for your reply :) Yeah we thought it would be something like that - it didn't seem like you would purposely be ignoring us - obviously you want to find these beautiful whippies their forever homes. :)

I'll look forward to receiving a reply soon then :sweating: :D

I had quite a wait for my scrupples whippet, Hector. He was well worth the wait and I will forever be in Scrupples debt. (You know I love you, Annie!)

I know that they need to do a home check and match you with the best whippet to suit you and your other dog. I couldn't decide between Hector and Amber so took Annie's advice.

Be patient, the wait is worth it! :))

Hello!

Sorry to gatecrash your discussion, but I have a rapidly expanding whippet puppy, and while I am enjoying dressing her in new jumpers etc, i have a small 'outgrown' pile growing. I was wondering if they would be of any use to Scruples? As Pixie is growing so fast everything is in very good condition and has very little sign of wear and tear.

If Scruples are interested, please can you pm your address and I can forward things to you as she outgrows them

Cheers!

Holly

Thank you so much, Holly :D :huggles:

We are planning a "doggy car boot sale" at one of our events next year so all items are gratefully received. We could also use them for Scruples rescue dogs during the winter if any come in that are the right size to fit the jumpers and coats

Will pm you the address to send to - thanks so much again!!
