Thanks Vicky, if there's one thing that scares me it's the sight of them B***ards in the area! If anyone can loan me stepson a shotgun, he may be useful as he was a crackin shot at the game fair!! ;)

Tell me about it - they get where bloody water can't.

I had a ride up to gin before, i had noticed 8 caravans in the area and followed them, the camp must have had almost 100 caravans with more arriving :( :( .

I dont know how long they will be there as they are camped on dis-used private property so i suppose its up to the owner of the land to take action.

we have had them near here for over six months they left a few days ago. It might even be the same lot. they left the area trashed and drovr off in there new vans and convertabl sports cars as well as there nice shinny caravans. at lest we can take our dogs ont now without going in the car first. they were on councli land here and it took 6 months so i would hate to think how long it could take on privat land

It's doubtful we'll get back on the track now before the end of the season - bloody great stuff with champs just around the corner :(

Looks like they're in Atherton aswell as Gin Pit, only a few mins away from us. :(

Barry will have a drive past later to see how big the camp is.

We're gonna take the lure up to Ainsdale tomorrow if anyone fancies it.

Keith can't set off until 5pm so it'll be about 5.45/6pm when we get there, anyone is welcome to come.

ANOTHER GYPO UPDATE - KIDS HAVE BEEN ASKING THE LOCAL RESIDENCE IF THERE ARE ANY LURCHERS IN THE AREA!!

you need a sign on your doors saying beware the rottwiler or alsation or somthing like that to keep them off the sent

B*****ds have got me sooooo paranoid it's untrue, my 3 are all caged upstairs tonight and have drove out to walk them, only trouble was as i was pulling off the drive a great big white pick-up drove up behind me - just hope they didn't clock the whippets (we're on the main road leading up to the site). What makes me even more paranoid is when we went to the game fair on Sunday a Gyppo stopped us in the queue up to the entrance & asked if we'd sell him our spaniel.

Oh and seen someone walking a badly injured saluki x greyhound past my house which was later seen going into the camp site, it makes me so sad for the poor dogs.  Not a happy bunny tonight :(

We had the same sort of thing here with them for 6 months and they have only just gone. my dogs now think you carnt walk out of the front gate you have to go in a car everywere. the time you need to be most carefull is when there leaving as that seams to be when things go missing

the ones here had a poor saluky lurcher with a badly injured leg it could hardly walk on it but othere than phone the rspca theres not alot you can do for te poor animals

this lot did allmost daily rounds calling asking did we wontourgarned doing or trees pruning or bulding work done or driveways laid in very offical looking sign write vans one even had an 0800 number on it

 bloody hell-lets hope no travellers are reading this thread! especially the sensitive ones.

Sensitive Gypsy's? Obviously not those that stole my 2 dogs or the other pair that have left their lurcher with a broken leg tied up in a local field & the fella walking past my house yesterday with a half crippled saluki who was later spotted walking onto the site (who incidently will be getting a visit from rspca tomorrow).

Maybe the sensitive one's can stop off at my house & patch up my dodgy driveway :D
