Just had a look at epupz and there are 3 adult Whippets from the same home in Cardiff for sale :(

And another 2 from the same home in Durham, as well as other young adults for sale :(

I wonder if this is a result of the 'credit crunch' or just unscrupulous breeders having a clear out?

oh dear what a worry, so many breeding age bitches(in some peoples eyes)

I saw these and thought it a little suspicious... \such a shame :(

Seems to be a lot of adult whippets being shifted

for one reason or another just recently :(

Surely many show breeders run young dogs on and re-home them if they do not turn out quite as well as hoped, and some certainly re-home older dogs too. It is up to the individual how they go about the process and the care with which they assess the suitability of potential homes; whether it is done via a website or by private enquiry does not necessarily make a lot of difference to the outcome.

Carefully placing a young adult in a loving home is fair enough, or an older dog who may be fighting with others in the home. It is sad, but sometimes these things have to be done :(

But this is a mature bitch and her 2 daughters- I think it is very sad and feel very sorry for the poor dogs

I have re-homed a couple of my older bitches, they did not like being in a pack and one was sparring up to the greyhound. I wasn't actively looking for home on both occasions they just happened. Both girls are happy in their new homes, so is a dog who also wanted a one to one home.

But I did not sell them, I asked for a donation for JR Whippet Rescue and no way would I have put them in the internet.

I find it hard to believe that people ask for money, quite high prices at that when they want a home for their dog, just because people pay does not guarantee a good home.

Im sure these havent come from 'show breeders', and 'many' dont run on young dogs then rehome, if not up to show standard. Yes it dose happen, but as usual the show breeders get tarred with the same brush.
