ive taken on a rough coated lurcher

shes pregnant at the minute, due pups end of july :sweating:

any advice/info i need to know

background info i have:

shes a 14month greyhound/wheaton/collie x

father is a greyhound/collie x

his previous litters had 9 & 7 pups in them

this is her first litter.

i need to know about how to get homes for these pups as soon as they are able to go.

thanks ;)

was this a accidently mating if not why would you breed a 14mth old bitch she must have been 12mth just over when mated

(w00t)

she was mated intentionally

she was passed on to another person

who decided they didnt want her

she was advertised as being pregnant

the father is a coursing dog thats all i know

im keeping her as a pet only

main reason why i took her.

just need to get pups rehomed

Well done for taking her, it sounds as though the poor girl has had a pretty unsettled life so far :(

Is there a good rescue in your area who could help you rehome the pups?

i've contacted a few rescues including a whippet rescue close to me

they wil help if they can ;)

Is this the 'FREE TO GOOD HOME' case advetised on another site?

Good for you taking her on. Hope you get homes for them. I think it's disgusting the way these peolple breed dogs then don't take responsibilty for them. :luck:

it depends on the other site you're thinkin of :clown:

she has a terrific temperament.

real placid nature

needs to put some weight on her

shes been treated for fleas and worms

I'm sure it probably is. She looked lovely. Sorry I can't put my name down for a pup but i'll pass on the word.

Well Done Lukkylady for taking her on and keeping her safe.

Good luck with the pups, hope she only has a very small litter, very young bitches often do.

Keep us updated ;)

Poor little girlie :( and well done to you for taking her in to give her the kindness and safety she deserves.

Scruples Whippet Rescue took in a whippet girl in April in similar circumstances. She had 5 pups a week after she arrived with us and the pups are now 13 weeks old. They all found homes easily without us having to advertise them.

Please don't be in a hurry to move the pups on. The earliest they should leave mum will be at 8 weeks so you have plenty of time to find good homes for them.

Keep the pictures coming on here as it is lovely to see the progress of rescue dogs - and if I hear of anyone wanting a pup I will let you know

Well done to you for taking her in

She is gorgeous and the person who bred her has been cruel breeding her at 12 months when she was just a pup herself .

I'm sure you will get lovely homes for the pups especially if they look anything like their Mum

She looks really gorgeous.   Well done for taking her on - it's such a shame she has been passed around and treated so poorly.

Good luck with her puppies - I hope all goes well for her. :luck: :luck:

Very well done for taking her on  now she will be looked after she will be fine.

I am so glad she has you to care for her it makes me so angry what goes on with these poor lurchers people should be named and shamed i would be the first one to do it . Its all a case of take the money and run and there are far too many being bred and sold to the wrong people i see people with lurchers that i wouldnt even sell a dead goldfish to , i hope they get their comeuppence

Oh she's like a fluffy version of Dash

Well done for taking her on and getting advice. I wish we were in a position to have a pup but I don't think we will be having another dog for a couple of years and I have my heart set on getting an oldie. Am sure you will get some lovely homes through this forum. :luck:

thanks everyone :))

shes settled in very well & very quickly

food is her main obsession! :-

this can be closed

has now been sorted :sweating:

many thanks! :teehee:

What do you mean ?

Has she had the pups or what ?

oh no! she hasnt had pups yet

i have gotten rescue backup for the pups

they are going to a rescue to be rehomed :sweating:

they are also offering vet assistance & food for mother & pups :)

mummy will be going for health check later in the week

great result for mum & pups (w00t)
