Just thought I'd ask you guys if you have any recommendations for software packages that will make my life easier!!! :D

I am buying a new laptop as the one my company supplies is so secure that it won't let me download pictures or link to any hardware device other than what is authorised. It is a real nuisance and, IMO, totally ridiculous as they let us use them on the internet :- "

Due to a bit of a hiccup with the purchase, the company I'm buying it from has offered to supply it with extra software on top of the standard package (within reason!!!) so I wondered what you lot use - especially when editing photos etc.

I also have a camcorder which records straight onto mini disc - is there any software which allows me to edit the videos I film??

I am totally useless when it comes to software and what the various packages offer ...... I just use the stuff once it's installed   so only user-friendly packages allowed ..... with instructions in words of one syllable ;)

Thanks peeps!!

sorry duck, im no good with all that stuff........hope you get it sorted :luck:

Photoshop is supposed to be one of the best photo editing software packages about. I doubt they will supply you with the latest version, CS3, as it's approx £500-£600, but photoshop elements is much cheaper, and has some useful functions. The funny thing is though, as brilliant as it is, it isn't as good as photobucket for resizing photos for the web from my own experience

Thanks, Nicola!

You're right, it's unlikely that they'll give me CS3 for free!!.... but I could always ask :- " :teehee:
