Hi all

I know that a lot of people do not agree with breeding dogs. I am wanting advice and help in how to sell puppies, who will go to a right owner. I have 5 French bulldogs. All who get loved constantly! I want to make sure that we get the right people to come and look at them.

I hope someone will help me.

I suppose if it were me I would be looking for someone who has researched the breed and is looking for the relevant health tests to have been done and published for both parents. I believe for French Bulldogs these would be clear scores for respiration, hereditary cataracts, heart, patella, hip and spine.

You shouldn't have trouble selling them. Finding good, permanent homes is another matter. Ideally all puppies should be sold before the bitch is even mated. In this way you avoid people buying on impulse. If you can weed out all the "impulse buyers" then you might be lucky and sell to good permanent homes.

Please issue each new owner with a puppy contract that prohibits them from breeding from their new dog and stipulates that, should the puppy ever need to be re homed it should come back to you first so that you can ensure the next home is a good one.

Just occurred to me that this could be a sly advert? I do hope not.
