Josephine appears to be a rather special little dog. She has done very well showing and exceptionally well lure coursing. She is a brilliant little working dog and wonderfully athletic.
Having thought hard about it we think we're unlikely ever to have as good a dog again we would like to carry on her line. She's due to come into season in the autumn when she will be three, and we think it would be a good time to have puppies.
I would really appreciate some advice in choosing a stud.
Josie is a 22" rough coated black lurcher. I don't really know her breeding as every time we ask her breeder he changes his mind as to whether she is whippet X grey X beardie or whippet X grey X beddie. Which ever it is she's line bred and mainly whippet (I think only two of her litter were rough, but mum is rough and mum's last litter, from same father were mainly rough).
What we really want to produce is more of the same, but a little faster if possible.
What sort of dog would you advise? I was thinking of using an extremely nice, very fast non ped whippet that I know, but the people who have asked about puppies all seem to want rough coated and I'm not sure we'd get any from that.
Here are a few pics of her.
